Just a horrible plan, and there seems to be some other sporting event happening that weekend. Has anyone heard of the Superbowl? How weird will it be if the Chargers are playing Superbowl Sunday?

I think that maintaining good health is critical for everyone in the healthcare profession. Took Dad to see his cardiologist who was sniffling. Doc assured us it was just some allergies. Dad caught those allergies a few days later.

Knowledge and information are the real keys to solving this. We need a strong patient advocate within the hospital but separately funded and managed. I suspect that the third party payers could fund this and actually lower costs. Folks who are ill and have diminished capacity often receive extraordinarily expensive care that helps the hospital bottom line without improving the health or quality of life of the patient.

I appreciate your three pillars, but I might add one more. For me getting reasonable and consistent exercise really helps balance my emotional life. I prefer to exercise outside; so when the weather inhibits my activity, I notice much more anxiety and irritability.

Felt a bit like a scavenger hunt finding parts of the post across the web...but well worth it. I am pretty sure that until we suspected Mom was close to death or close to killing us, we probably didn't pay much attention. The death stuff got our attention...at least briefly.

Feels a bit too simplistic. Most of the major corp CEO's SM presence is managed by SM or PR pros on their marketing or personal staff. For all the great stuff you suggest, 90% of the SM is corporate pablum. There are also some spectacular faux pas that have made most anxious. SM needs to be a plank in a careful PR strategy. I don't see much evidence that SM is important to the CEO's career or corporate success. Willing to learn if you have different evidence from say the Fortune 1000 crowd.

I find this intellectually vapid. Your indictment of bad religion is not an indictment of religion. You have set up a straw horse and knocked him down. I suspect you simply wrote this polemic to stir the pot. I find that demeaning both for you and the folks who are interested in your ideas.
