@prazzi

Respectfully have to say ur mistaken. I dont think he called it a 3rd world country. I feel Bryn was just trying to illustrate the vibe/atmosphere of a place like this. Being its in NY, USA (obviously a 1st world country) that fact alone means there are still more options available than in a 3rd world area of similar character.

Futhermore, being from or LIVING in a 3rd world country is nothing to be ashamed of. This wonderful article mentions pride at least twice, determination and admiration. This seems to be more about the people than the place.

Bryn, this was the most left field post Ive ever read on Speedhunters and I really liked it!

@C7JFW reading your comment made me remember a time 4 years ago when i had that attitude of indifference from plain old ignorance. But then I went to a REAL race and it was the 12 hours of Sebring. That's when IT ALL clicked.

Corvettes, Porsches, BMW's, LMP prototypes etc. all there just....racing :)

The Corvette was no longer an old mans car, a poor mans Ferrari, a mid life crisis, a death trap.

It was fast, it was fighting and it was free.

Do yourself a favor and cut through the media and internet bullshit and go experience the Tudor United Sportscar Championship or whatever racing you have near you.

I have to disagree with you Dino and my passion for car design outweighs my lazy ass so here goes:

japanese design is great and improving to keep up with this new era of complex body creases,

The current honda accord: http://www.stancenation.com/2011/08/18/you-wanna-talk-fitment/. No way 90's accord looked better.staying with Honda, what other car pulls off the egg shaped space ship of the civic?

Last gen is300 is defnitely bland, but they saw the error of their ways. that new polarizing grill/face is sooo japanese but the way creases and curves catch the light and still stay classy is genius. and theres a line that flows up the side bisecting the flared rear arch and meets the equally distinct taillight.

Subies r always quirky like a tomboy or nerdy girl, but put them in some nices shoes (wheels) and some tight jeans (drop) and ur like whaaa?? thats herrr? drool :P

Mazdas are like a really good looking T.V. family. From the mom(mazda 6)dad (rx8?)kid(mazda 3)baby(mazda 2)

And do I have to pull the GTR card? do I, Dino? no 1 will ever mistake Gojira for a vette/ferrari/porsche. if they do they should be run over by 1 so they know. Now that i think about it Nissan design does suck...AHAA! ur mad that nissan design is poop, arent u? u mad bro lol?

sorry that was immature but u mad, bro :)

The japanese didnt lose the designing spirit- just the need for speed. new MR2,3000GT,S2k,RX7 & 8 and Furai-3 plz

@robert armantrout I would have to disagree. I had 15 x 5 with 175/65/15 inch steelies on my car and then threw some 17 x 7,5 with 205/45/17 inch alloys on.

the good: more grip in corners

the bad: noticeable lack of acceleration.

In theory adding more mass = more weight. I dont see an 18 inch tire ever weighing less than a 13 inch tire with the same construction.

Also, the argument that F1 cars dont share much with roadcars is a bit ridiculous. When's the last time you saw an open wheel street car?

IMO Formula 1 tests theories and principles using a basic and optimal 'formula' (stripped out, single seat etc.) and the results are then transfered to roadcars.

Soooo.....FAT TIRES FOREVER!!

I'm guilty of not giving this car credit for doing everything the modern driver needs-no more no less.

The worst part is I have no idea where the preconceptions came from!!

Most likely I still want to play with the older cars from the 70's?? Or maybe I dont see enough Evoras around? Maybe Lotus needs to reassure people they're not going anywhere...and offer more variants? a lighter Evora IPS?

Evora gives you heritage, handling and no headaches with the Toyota engine, but at that price maybe people would

just rather have a corvette/porsche-exclusivity be damned.

I think the biggest problem with this market and them not 'making them like they used to' is that the people who used to buy them aren't. The 3 pedal driver looking for a new car is becoming an endangered species.

If only dogs could buy cars, too!

Anyways as I said before I was rudely unplugged from the matrix :

Yes there should be a 928 and if you google 928 concept there are some

old Panamera style renders out there via motortrend and car and driver.

I would put this above the Panamera. Reason being you can get a nice 911 or Panamera for $100k,

and the two coexist peacefully.

If you introduce the '928' in that same price range it could gouge sales of the 911 and/or Panamera.

They should start it at $120k and go for the Maserati GranTurismo market.

I took it off the road because I came to realize the rolling-resto thing is always just patchwork.

Now I drive society's idea of a "real car".

I'm trapped between not wanting to modify it at all and understeer, body roll, and no throttle respone!! }:(

But the e-brake works, the radio works, no rattles and I can fit some big girls :)

BTW I see you doing big things in Racer magazine Sean! Keep up the good work.

I love this silhouette style racing car with the high sills and cropped doors.

Ever since the ALMS season ended I was suffering serious racecar withdrawal (its real yo!)

It took Chris Harris describing how the aero works on DTM cars for me to give it a chance.

And guess what?

Just like ALMS the production is great, commenators explain a lot (I finally understand and witnessed DRS), all races are on DTM's youtube channel, and even qualifying kicks ass!(look for sparks at Brands Hatch).

The best part: these guys rub when they race! These cars aren't as fragile as F1 so the drivers have a bit more gusto

A lot of opinionated art school rejects on here lol. like turbo BEAMS ae86 mentioned: this is the same car just better.

Every model thats lasts more than 1 generation always gets more refined and toned R32,R33,R34 GTR; c4,c5,c6 corvette etc. Youre the quacks at art galleries looking at some "artists" vomit and saying dumb shit like "i really feel his passion".

I dont see or maybe I dont want to see this "EURO" influence...but i think they are going to love it! Im into hatchbacks and smaller, lighter cars, but I drove a friends Mustang and its just a different experience.

Its WIIDE so you feel like youre sitting on a throne and instead of a granola bar of an engine, you get a whole banquet to feast on. You take your time digesting because Torque!

Now it has a 4cyl, 200lbs lighter, IRS and a timeless style against a sea of German and French hatches and sedans...This could be a game changer in these new markts = more RWD :)

Also, theres people saying its not tough enough - gtfo! Is it that hard to imagine some racing stripes, a lip kit and some driving lights? Vaugh Gittin Jr should have you guys covered with the next RTR
