 @DominicD from an article i read recently is that a former nike designer who is now employed at Adidas US headquarters had a major part to play in this shoe. not saying that your reason doesn't have validity but it does seem suspicious.

 Remember the Nike Black and Brown controversy? Its not so much about black and white as it about perception. In a world all about political correctness adidas should of know or at least anticipated this kind of response from the public. I personally dont like the gimmicky footwear but without the chains it's not a bad looking shoes. I wont pay 350 for them. I thinks its more casual rather than athletic. And 250 for LBJ 9"s elite is considered expensive?
