They weren't lying about no new hardware! (unless you count the stock S4!)Lol. All in all, it was a pretty good I/O. I love how Google constantly works to innovative and improve their products. It leaves me excited about what they have cooking next!
I've been saying this for a while now, but if Google launched their own music service and it's robust, I would drop Rdio and Spotify in a heartbeat! Especially if I can bill it to my carrier. All my music needs would be met in one easy to use application! Maybe we'll hear something at I/O?
I'd jump all over a Nexus 4 LTE (especially if it's available in white). A Nexus smartwatch would be equally as awesome, I know a lot of people find that silly, but it would be so convenient for times I don't want to pull out my phone. I know this isn't the most sexy request, but one thing I'd REALLY be interested in is a revamped Nexus Q with Google TV functionality (perhaps a tad cheaper as well). I've long desired a good Google TV experience, and I have a feeling that would come directly from Google itself. With Google Fiber on the horizon, now would be a good time really show what they could do on that front.
Between the gorgeous body and all the great features (BoomSound, Zoe, Blinkfeed...) it's too difficult to pick just "One".
The "Nexus Optimus G" Or "Nexus Optimus G2" BOOM! LOL
@TheDark_Knight Agreed. I'm on the road and travel often and there are just some areas that I wish I made offline from before departing. Though I would imagine that whole states/countries would eat up a large chunk of your phone's memory. The small sections at a time that they let you download is almost 90MB... and that's just around a 50mi radius...
I'm with you Google maps for Android needs a serious overhaul. Why is it we're *still* waiting for UI improvements that iOS got? Perhaps all will be revealed at I/O? Maybe we'll see in the next version of Android or Key Lime Pie? (when that comes around)
I'd rather see some independent studies on this myself. Maybe a few videos. As the adage goes, "Pics, or it didn't happen"
Though I'm with you. I can live with a few scratches if I have structural integrity. Though generally with me, I'd almost feel like it was time for a new phone (or at least a screen replacement) if the scratch was too apparent (I'm OCD like that.. LOL)
I'm not on AT&T, So I truly hope other carriers follow suit and offer the larger size! As slightly over priced I think the S4 is, I do think that $50 bump between size models is a great system... Hopefully that'll continue down the line with all OEMs...
I'm a Kansas Citian and one of the lucky ones that got Google Fiber in my neighborhood and let me tell you, it's fantastic! Though, I gotta say the roll-out here has been strange, so to speak. If I've been following progress correctly, they are still working on Central Kansas City, MO (nothing is lit up outside of the Google Fiber Space area) and only a spattering of neighborhoods have been lit up on the Kansas City, KS side. They even haven't touched North or South KC yet. So it's been hard to get a bead on when and how they are going to finish the rest of KC...
Though I assume if the Raytown City Council approves Google Fiber, they'll start work on South Kansas City at the same time, since a good portion of Raytown shares a border with them. Though I'll be slightly perplexed if they start working on Shawnee and Olathe before the rest of KC.. Though I don't know how these things work, honestly. LOL
The larger question remains, how are people still on Donut, Eclair and Froyo? :-P Ahhh makes me want to boot up my G1. Lol
Though I will go on record and say that... pictures. They do not do the HTC One justice. That phone is absolutely stunning!
So I walked into ATT today to get a feel for both devices (I plan on making my choice in the next couple weeks). Still a damn hard decision to make!!
They should keep the family consistent. Make the Note III like the S4, refresh both next year. Samsung is on top of the world. No need to freak out and get all reactionary.
Just caught this article. I think Samsung needs to go back to the drawing board as far as tablets are concerned. For one, they seem way to unfocused in this area, as I feel they are releasing waaaay too many tablets to keep up with. Not to mention way too similar in my opinion. and like you said, mediocre at best. I don't think even one of them spec wise has matched up with their S and Note cousins.
They could remedy all this by scrapping everything and release three types of tablets to coincide with their smartphone counterparts: a budget 7" (or 8") Galaxy Tab Mini, Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Galaxy Note 10.1. In the real world, the specs should match (or at least very close to) the Mini, S and Note lines. It would do wonders for their consistency.
@JBLmobileG1 Even with rooting, I ran into problems with the 16GB S3. There are some apps/games I don't necesssarily want to bind to the micro SD. One would think Samsung HAD to know that 8GB of user storage, even for the general consumer isn't enough considering games and apps are getting larger and demand more memory.
For shame, Samsung. For shame.
That's craaazy! And here I thought the 11-12GB that was available for on the S III was bad! I bought the 16GB S III last year thinking I could get by with that and a 64GB micro SD (plus being on T-Mobile, due to the inventory they didn't have the 32 available at launch and I didn't want to wait.) Boy, was I wrong!
This year, if I decide to go with the S4, I'm going to (as you put it, Dima) nope out hard on the 16GB variant and go straight for the 32 or 64GB variant. If HTC got everything else wrong with the One, (they didn't, but you know what I mean) they at least got the memory to price ratio right!
"Nope'd out" I love that! Lol
Though this gives me a little more time to make my decision getting either the One, S4 or both! Lol
Silly David you ARE TmoNews!! :-)
