Actually, most of us are more worried about GOD'S laws than man's laws. Jesus told us to render unto Caesar that which was Caesar's, & Paul said that we needed to follow the law of the land, UNLESS it goes against God's law. And, a lot of our laws go against God's law.
@markinla @RON G Wrong, Ron G. I have a very low resistance to alcohol, & with drinking just ONE drink would be incapable of driving. Most states don't strictly enforce the law, & that's part of the big problem. If you have even one drink, you should NOT drive.
@lokiswife That already IS the law in most states, if not all, & it does NOT work. We recently had a hit & run, where a off duty police officer, on his motorcycle, was hit by a man in an SUV. It took the cops a while to find the guy, but they did find him. However, the officer didn't die, so the charges weren't as serious. And, not only did the driver have previous DUI arrests, he was driving on a revoked license. Not sure what the answer is, but a person should have to go to jail for a VERY long time if arrested for it. They usually go easy on first time offenders, but I think they might ought to be tougher on first timers, & maybe that would stop some of them. Of course, it's no worse than those that drive while higher than a kite, so people are going to buck the system no matter what. I know some of the meds I'm on impair me to the point that I KNOW I can't drive responsibly, so I don't. But, once you start drinking, after you get to a certain point, you think you're ok, & can do anything.
Well, in my particular county in Tennessee, DUI laws don't work too well. There's almost always a name in the local paper of someone being arrested for their 10th, 11th, or even 12th time, driving under the influence, plus also with driving without a license, plus no insurance. Impound their vehicle? No problem, they just buy another one. I used to manage a finance office, & one of my customers had been arrested so many time for DUI, & driving on a revoked, that it was ridiculous. He told me that he told his probation officer that he didn't know why they bothered, because he liked to drink, & he liked to drive, & didn't plan on stopping either one. In cases like his it SHOULD be illegal to sell him alcohol, & anyone that bought it for him should be arrested also, plus he shouldn't be allowed to purchase a vehicle of ANY sort, & anyone that allowed him to drive should be arrested. But, I'm a teetotaler these days. In my younger days, I drank, & even drove sometimes, but that was really stupid, on my part. Fortunately, God kept me safe, & didn't allow anything bad to happen. And, this is just ONE of my customers. I had several others that did the same thing, & as far as I know, none of them ever did more than 150 days on a farm of some sort.
@rogerofin Yeah, that's the only bad thing about impeaching Obama~we get stuck with Biden. And, while he might be less dangerous, in some ways, than Obama, as stupid as he is, he could get us blown to kingdom come by another nation. We have to figure out what to do with him, then with Boehner, so neither of them takes the Oval office over. Either one of them is worthless.
When you buy anything in Tennessee, unless through a private individual, you pay taxes. So, if you buy your ammo at Walmart, you pay state sales tax, or if you buy a gun at the local gun store, you pay state sales tax. States need to get together & tell Washington to quit hurting the states!
Tennessee passed a law that gives employers the right to require employees speak English, or they don't have to hire them, if it'd be a detriment to business.
What's even worse is, that, the GOP doesn't have much use for people like Mrs. Haley either. If a candidate, or an elected official, doesn't toe the line, they turn against them. That's why we lost seats in the Senate, because the candidates didn't meet their criteria, they left them to just swing in the wind, without any support.
The only reason people are offended is because it's reminding people of a shameful incident in the history of this country with the Native Americans. When the government takes your guns from you for your safety & protection, then, as this incident proves, don't give them up. They'll take your life instead. And, those killed that day included women & children.

@DockyWocky I also saw video last night, of one of my social sites, that said the Texas explosion MAY have been caused by a missile from North Korea. I know Austin was one of the 3 cities they said they planned on striking. From the video I watched, it did look like something hit the building just as it exploded. I think all of this stuff is setting the stage for martial law, which is why Obama is so determined to disarm us.

I agree with this article. And, now, we know that it was Muslim men from Chechnya, & not raised in America. Plus a Saudi National MAY be involved. No proof yet. What really irritates me is all the false info the media puts out, before they legitimately verify it. They quote 'sources' without naming names, so that way, they just have to say they were 'misinformed'. Meanwhile the damage is done. Even Fox reported some false info. For some reason, our mainstream media seems loathe to actually report the truth, & end up causing more harm than good. That 17 y.o. that was identified as a possible suspect is afraid to even step out of his home, & is worried about his friends & family, with good reason. I sincerely hope he sues, & wins, & just maybe that will stop some of this. The different networks try to out scoop the others, so rush in without verifying their facts first. They need to be slapped with some kind of fines, or something, so this stops.
What the left doesn't realize is, that, they will answer to God one of these days. And, although they are not participating in the actual crime, they condone it, even promote it. This is one of the main reasons that America is sliding swiftly toward total destruction of our way of life, as we know it.
I agree with this. The DC crowd, for the most part, is totally worthless. Unfortunately, as a retired person, I can't afford to contribute financially. But, I do email, fill out opinion polls on here, & blast my reps & senators whenever possible. I figure eventually we're going to get through to a few of them anyway. I fear for America's future, but, all we can do is, pray, try to take a stand where possible, & vote out those that we can.
Just because a person is a Christian, does not mean that life is perfect. The Bible plainly says that 'it rains on the just, and on the unjust'. Jesus said He'd be with us in our times of trouble, He didn't say we wouldn't have any troubles. People who are being so hateful toward Rick, will pay in the end. I don't agree with a lot of his doctrine, but he still is a child of God, so deserves my respect, love, AND prayers.
Just wait. This will start happening here in this country. I'm on SS, so have my money deposited on a debit card, then transfer it to the bank. But, that's no guarantee that they won't take my money before it even gets to me. All we can do is, pray, & trust God to take care of us, & fight against the oppression with all our might.
This is coming to America. Why do you think DHS & other federal agencies are stocking up on ammo, & the exact same weapons they want to take away from us? Mark Levine said they've already stockpiled enough ammo to fight the Iraqi war for 24 years, or kill every American, man, woman AND child 5 times. And, Obama knows he can't trust a lot of the military to take his side in any crisis where it involves harming the citizens, & a lot of law enforcement have already made pretty clear their feelings on the NDAA law, plus the gun ban they're trying to get passed. If the economy does crash, & food gets scarce, a lot of people WILL go nuts & start looting, & killing if they need to, to get what they need.
