Its the LePhone not IdeaPhone

I don't believe this at all. Remember those iPad prototypes we saw at the beginning of the trial? They were from as early as 2002. Samsung didn't even have software to use that early.

Samsung is killing itself with stupidity. NO, I am NOT an Apple fanboy -- I love Android, but the evidence isn't good for Sammy...

There is no such thing as "middle ground" when it comes to mobile gaming. It's one or the other. You can't have both.

This article is incredibly unsavory for the Android community. Flashing ROMS and modding is what makes Android GREAT.

This is definitely the nailin the coffin. Samsung has no chance in this trial, I haven't seen any evidence that would go in Samsung's favor as of yet.

This is the best possible move they could have made after the KickStarter campaign ended. By opening up actual pre-orders outside of KickStarter, they are obligated to either ship the final product to you or give you your money back. Whereas KickStarter backers get no guarantee.

@kanoneyez They've already stuck with the same sandwich design for 2 years, it's really time for them to change it up. If they don't do something drastic, fanboys are going to start getting bored with their underwhelming 3.5-inch disappointment. If I were one of them I would be sick of looking at squares by now.

@kanoneyez Yeah 2 days without a charge is ideal, but I almost never seem to achieve it. I've been thinking of getting an extended battery, but I'm afraid it will be way to thick to hold in the hand. (there has to be a better way to say that last part)

2 years ago on Editorial: OUYA Could Destroy Traditional Gaming, And That's Not A Good Thing

Reply

@JQuest81  @YK I'm sure that will happen. It's going to be completely open and will be able to run most Android apps, so you could probably just sideload an emulator APK and you're good to go.

2 years ago on Editorial: OUYA Could Destroy Traditional Gaming, And That's Not A Good Thing

Reply

I don't think it will "destroy" traditional gaming. Most hardcore gamers have more that one console and at $99 the Ouya can easily be added to someone's living room.

Games will be nowhere near as complex or put together as the Xbox 360 or PS3, but that's not what its supposed to be. Ouya will be a casual gaming console, since you dont have to spend a dime on a game after you have the device.

2 years ago on Editorial: OUYA Could Destroy Traditional Gaming, And That's Not A Good Thing

Reply

@roboguy12 I wish it could work like that. But, Android doesn't support chips like those. It's a completely different architecture. That's why we're stuck with SoCs like Tegra and OMAP that are based on ARM.

Also, Android is built on top of the Linux kernel, so 8GB of RAM would be overkill since it wouldn't know what to do with it or how to use it.

Hey, at least it has a fingerprint reader :D
