@Old Man Game @d21 Agree. You would think he would get the Presti by now.
JMO but I dont think there is anyone in this draft that is good enough to trade up for by the Thunder except maybe Bennett. I really dont think the big men in this draft are that good, but if you had to take one, I think it's Adams because of his size, length and youth. That fits presti's model more than the the kid from Zaga. The guy that seems to fit the presti view is Giannis Adetokunbo so maybe they trade down
@TheresABabyFaceUnderMyBeard @Treviedo Yes, but Presti said if he had signed Harden it would have only been a temporary solution, so why not compare it short-term and long-term
After watching this series so far, it is very apparent that:
1) We would have beat Memphis with Westbrook(may have gone seven)
2) Our biggest weakness is the lack of quality 3 point shooters. Spurs are hitting their wide open 3s
Also, it will be 2 years or more before we know the results of the harden trade. So far, our 60 win season justified it. We shall see next year how it plays out with a healthy team in the playoffs. This trade also must be judged in the whole by the sum of the parts vs comparing our 12th pick vs Harden and so forth. If the team is better/meets its reasonable expectations than it will at least be a wash.
@kfmsooner The measurement of draft IQ is what do you do with real high picks. Do you pick all stars or busts. Presti by that measure is definitely above average. Throw out Durant and you have Westbrook and Harden who were not thought of that highly. The draftnics laughed at the Westbrook pick. People life Chris Wallace who is getting accolades right now has a horrible record of drafting high(Thabeet) Lower picks are harder to judge because the philosophy can be way different from team to team. Some just gamble more because it doesn't matter to them.
@[censored] @Treviedo Sorry, meant "reins"
@[censored] @Treviedo We will have to disagree - Harden would never have been a consistent all-star here and he knew that and Westbrook needed to be given the full reigns - but I respect your opinion
@Old Man Game Thunder need a post threat(good luck) and/or a consistent open-shot making big man.
@[censored] @Treviedo How do you explain that they had their best seasons apart from each other?
@[censored] I agree with you , but we cannot just ignore the financial ramifications(Ibaka or no Ibaka) behind the trade and the fact that Westbrook and Harden probably could not co-exist and reach their full potential
@[censored] I agree. We don't give him enough credit for being a very efficient scorer and 3point shooter all without 'I need to handle the ball" issues. Good passer too. Just wish he could guard someone.
perkins not playing tonite???? Sprained knee?????
@[censored] @FF_pickups Totally agree with this.
@Lost Ones I respect your opinion but to me he looked like a the hyperactive kid spinning his wheels going no where.
@MisterJohnsonOKC We don't need a center to beat the Heat.I don't like perkins either, by the way
None of these trades being discussed are going to help. This AV trade idea is old an irrelevant. Our problem is Westbrook plays like a 12-year old against the Heat. Until we have someone who can get the ball to the right people at the right time - we will not beat the Heat. Perkins, our bench and whatever else are secondary factors.
Well, my two cents. Presti is not going to give up 3 first-round draft picks for AV. Sure, he is an upgrade from Perkins, but that is all. Better deals to be had.
@supreme35 Lakers will be 0 & 3...
