@MR_E_Stranger thats what i did with my WRX... saved up the money and spent it in one hit. did wheels, tyres, brakes, suspension all at the same time. Why put the car in the air multiple times and strip the same parts over and over again. Aint nobody got time for that.
Depends what im modifying...
For my wrx it was, general maintenance, brakes, timing belt and the like , then started with usual bolt on modifications , before doing suspension and wheel upgrades.
For my 74 Datsun drag/street car it was , body work and chassis modifications , taking it to bare metal and taking care of all the body and fab work, paint and panel, then setting up the suspension, steering, brakes, diff ... engine and wiring is last to get done and go in.
It all comes down to what vehicle it is, what you want to do to it and what your going to use it for. Different horses for different courses.

@JoeWhaler just re-read it as it was 4am when i initially skimmed over the article. And did some reading into the KERS system. I like the idea of it and the power output is impressive.
i absolutley love this thing!! i pray it doesnt have any electric/hybrid junk .... just an all out big hp animal super car.

PS... Stock mirrors back on , keep the badges , lower it a tad more , side skirts to match the flow and level of the frontbar/lip & rear diffuser.
