An inconsistent contributor to DD/MSTI for a couple of years. There's a very strange bug on my keyboard right now. Kind of looks like a tadpole crossed with a shrimp, crossed with a beetle.

@Disgruntled Goat @Raul Franklin Maybe Goat. Maybe. Perhaps, but it's probably the bunting, because as we all know MATT ADAMS WILL NOT BUNT.

Because of Maddon's use of bunting, Andrew Friedman decides not to make his first major decision as a Dodgers executive completely poison his reputation for honesty and integrity in the organization and league.

@steelmohawk The good thing is that Tommy John surgery doesn't affect GM's velocity and accuracy like it does RPs.

It would be amazing if the Dodgers kept making intelligent decisions until they cleared house of all the bad ones. Now that being said, is a front office stocked with former GMs the behind-the-scenes equivalent of a bullpen stocked with former closers?Because if so, nope.

@YadierMolinasOedipalComplex @Raul Franklin "you shouldn't want the job" spoken like an employed person.
@pureed tomato @Raul Franklin I actually think that this is the natural corollary to a society obsessed with guns and self-defense. If you want conceal and carry, get used to tons of ass-kissing.
@capnsparrow @pureed tomato Ahh, hence the free-floating rage.
Not to be a "mother" about this, but it's probably good to send a thank you note for an interview every time, because people love to be flattered, and perhaps this company is saying that they need flatterers, and this is a real thing that is useful to the people the company serves, even if it turns out to be themselves.
@Vin_Skully @Raul Franklin haha, I'm not really a sketch artist. That being said, it was kind of like a pseudo-pornographic mafia-style melt-down

@Vin_Skully @Raul Franklin Seriously, I am not trolling. It brought an image to my mind.
@Vin_Skully "got made at me" this is an amazing freudian slip.
@Mike Petriello It is a thing, and it's kind of crazy when people apply for millions of jobs and get absolutely zero feedback all the time.Is it time to stop rewarding people for doing what they really need to be doing to fill jobs (conduct an interview). No one ever thanks a batter for stepping into the batters box, because that's what they have to do to get the game going.
I think AJ Ellis is the secret reason that Kershaw is considered a great leader in the clubhouse...not to be too Jewish about it, but Ellis is Aaron to Kershaw's Moses.

@foldamort Yeah, there was a good article recently about the expanding strikezone.
I'll find it.
6 days, 23 hours ago on Dodgers introduce Andrew Friedman, questions about GM spot remain
@DodgerDodger 1. This is optimistic, and may be possible, but remember that Ethier makes a lot more than $7 mill a year, he makes over 15 for several more years, so its a shit ton of money to buy a AA pick, even if the Dodgers kick in more than half of it, which is almost certainly a condition, unless someone big was also included in the deal.2. There's also Arruebarrena, who is Rojas, but makes a lot more money, and might have contractual stipulations for MLB play, and with potentially a bit of an attitude issue, based upon minor league rumors.3. Turner at short is not something that should happen.Think about point 3 and point 2 taken as a pair: If you put Rojas at 3B, lose Hanley, and lose Uribe you get the following:If you play Turner at SS: A defensive downgrade (from Hanley!) at SS, a hole in your bench, a downgraded offense, and arguably zero net gain on 3B defense. It could be the reality, but I would be shocked if it were the plan.If you play Arruebarrena at SS and Rojas at 3B, you have a nice defensive infield, but some serious offensive stink.

@BlueMarvin I don't think the Dodgers will dip below top 15. But they may drop to number 2.
@ tomato "Giants GM praises Dodgers counterpart for respectably not outperforming him in recent years."
@efb I know, right?
I think we won't know what will happen, but if the major league team isn't thrilling in the next year or two, then keep your eyes on the minor league system.
@foldamort @Sugar-Free Generic Grape Soda The Dodgers make it impossible to judge, because they get good WAR from expensive players and bad WAR from expensive players, and the same is true of cheap players.
@foldamort Are we measuring by Ethier or by Puig?
@Cat Astrophically Awesome @foldamort Stole the thought out of my brain.

1 week, 1 day ago on What About The Next Joe Maddon?
Nice post, Mike. Full agreement on all fronts.I think Mattingly would have been much more lauded if he had taken a page out of Bochy's playbook and called for a massive wild pitch from Rosenthal in the ninth inning of NLDS game 1.
@P_F_P @BehindOrangeLines The thing is, the Cards already lost Yadier to a strain that usually sidelines people for a long time, so the odds are good that no matter what this is a hard series for them already.
Is it me, or is John Jay batting .545 in the LCS?
@DBrim It's too bad they didn't get Puig's triple. It seemed pretty effortless.
