People who are geared might not need to run LFR much, but people in low-end normal-mode raiding guilds could still need a lot of gear from lower level modes. When Throne came out, I still needed to run 5.0 raids in LFR. That quickly went away, but currently my guild is only 4/16 in Throne (we only killed Tortos for the first time last night). I still need a ton of gear from LFR. Chances are good I won't be done with LFR before 5.4 hits.
Even if you disregard gear, what about legendary progress or reputation? Because I'm not killing every boss every week in normal, I have to do LFR to get the reputation. I know I don't have to do LFR, and I don't every week, but I'm letting my group down when I don't.
I'm glad to hear how excited it makes you. Even when other games seem to have some better mechanics or decisions, nothing pulls me in and makes me care about the world like WoW. I'm avoiding the beta but am very excited about Mists.
