I watched the video earlier, before I had seen the article, and wasn't really captured by this. Reading the article and seeing the attention to detail and thought put into this build has blown me away. I think good design crosses all boundaries, and what you created is something that is greater than the sum of it's parts. We need more people pushing the limits like this!
@GeraRodriguez @Jochem I think the problem, with the passing attempts at the Nouvelle Chicane, is that you have to commit once you make the decision to try and pass. No chance to back out if, like Kimi, someone shuts the door. That said, Perez repeatedly has brain fades and takes other cars out of the race with him.
@bakayaru @Mat81 Totally agree, on the race track it would be the first thing I would ditch. Just wouldn't do it in a road car, purely personal preference. Cheers!
Not having a go Mike, just curious as to why you would remove a safety feature (airbag wheel) from the Miata? Always found this puzzling when people do this to modern cars. You could easily get a hold of a nice Nardi airbag wheel (not sure what the stock usdm one in the Miata is), they were available on many Mazdas in different trims and look great. Looking forward to updates on the Miata, always had a soft spot for them.
No 306 gti6 pug? And missing the Nissan Pulsar SSS!
Amazing build and beautiful paint. Just couldn't stop grinning while watching this!
Amazing build! I could only dream of having the skills to do something like this!
@Miguelone @Mat81 Cool, been a while since I frequented the 31 forums, thanks for the info. Great looking car either way!
That R31 GTS is actually an R31 GT Passage, sporting a GTS grill and aftermarket bonnet I believe. Pillar-less and four doors are the giveaway. Awesome coverage, keep up the good work!
@Heathrussell @Speedhunters_Rob Totally agree, shipping from the EU store works out to about $70 for one tee! Set us up through the US store. And roido11 I dare say he used a freight forwarder.
This must be what Holden based the Torana on? If you like this one you should check out some of the Torana builds in OZ.
Great write up, love reading about the development of this car. The mirrors weren't even an issue for me, hadn't noticed them until I read the comments!
"16-year-olds are introduced to driving safely in a controlled environment, which has been shown to reduce accident rates amongst drivers in their first year on the roads."Do you have any link to a peer review journal or article about this? Would like to read more about it.
