Hopefully, with the new global Mustang, we'll see this Shelby version in OZ.

@datsunnazi @SeBaBunea  Doesn't the fuel restriction mean that the amount of fuel delivered to the engine at the high rpm's tapers the higher you rev? I thought it was more a case of restriction (power drops off) rather than reliability.

@Gianluca FairladyZ  Rubbish. Formula 1 always has been and always will be about the pinnacle of technology. The new engines reflect the tech and direction the automotive world is heading, the V8's were dated tech/engines.

Very nicely done car, especially love the Supra seats reupholstered. The only thing I would change would be the steering wheel, not to my taste.

@apex_DNA @wheatgod @Budd19 Budd isn't saying it has to be a RWD drift monster, but something different from the norm would be great. The amount manufacturers that have trotted out a rally prepped cardigan at a show like SEMA must be in the hundreds by now.

Love the Gibson Motorsport HR31, one of the coolest cars at Bathurst. Always loved the paint scheme on it and it sounds nuts at full throttle!

@Jun Imai It looks like a Mazda Mx-5 Coupe. They came in three (NB model) versions, Type A, E, & S. Being that they were japan only models and the car in the photo looks to be left hand drive and an NA model, perhaps the custom hardtop is based on the coupe shape?

I watched the video earlier, before I had seen the article, and wasn't really captured by this. Reading the article and seeing the attention to detail and thought put into this build has blown me away. I think good design crosses all boundaries, and what you created is something that is greater than the sum of it's parts. We need more people pushing the limits like this!

@GeraRodriguez  @Jochem I think the problem, with the passing attempts at the Nouvelle Chicane, is that you have to commit once you make the decision to try and pass. No chance to back out if, like Kimi, someone shuts the door. That said, Perez repeatedly has brain fades and takes other cars out of the race with him.

@bakayaru  @Mat81 Totally agree, on the race track it would be the first thing I would ditch. Just wouldn't do it in a road car, purely personal preference. Cheers!

Not having a go Mike, just curious as to why you would remove a safety feature (airbag wheel) from the Miata? Always found this puzzling when people do this to modern cars. You could easily get a hold of a nice Nardi airbag wheel (not sure what the stock usdm one in the Miata is), they were available on many Mazdas in different trims and look great. Looking forward to updates on the Miata, always had a soft spot for them.

That R31 GTS is actually an R31 GT Passage, sporting a GTS grill and aftermarket bonnet I believe. Pillar-less and four doors are the giveaway. Awesome coverage, keep up the good work!
