AHHH JAPAN! I was born on the wrong side of the pacific.
An x-wing pilot and a man in a tuxedo walk into a bar...
Who's next to turn the racing suit into a fashion statement?
I wonder if the owner has any idea what that "Interstate 420" sticker really means.
@ELxTORO @rbliberty08 and so saying that one of the greatest FWD platforms to ever grace the face of this planet is a fad is also not insulting? What about the MILLIONS of civics on the road? are all those people following a fad? Racing civics has been around LONG before a bunch of crazy people in japan started sliding up hills. Tell me again which one is more along the lines of a fad? the car with 30+ years of history, 20+ of those in racing, or a relatively new motorsport that isnt actually a motorsport at all, more like ice skating with tires and asphalt instead of skates and ice.
Just because it doesnt go along with your point of view doesnt make it insulting, unless youre a woman. Youre not a woman are you?
cause if you are, there are some sandwiches to be made.
wow, AC as an option? does this mean GM is finally getting it?
@rbliberty08 The cheapest cars to own and maintain are FWD Hondas.
The easiest cars to make into race cars, are FWD Hondas.
Drifting is a huge fad cult.
This "Honda spoon" hardly has any Spoon parts on it (comparitive to some other civics) and it probably kicks the ass of anything youve ever driven.
have a good day, and keep drinking that haterade.
“Every now and then when your life gets complicated and the weasels start closing in, the only cure is to load up on heinous chemicals and then drive like a bastard from Hollywood to Las Vegas ... with the music at top volume and at least a pint of ether.”
Larry, I tell you this often, but I think I love you.
when i was a youth, before i was legally allowed to operate a motor vehicle on public roadways, RC car life was my jam.
Nitro 10th scale touring cars, nitro 8th scale buggies, 10th scale off-road trucks. Drifting hadnt hit the USA yet, so no purpose built RC drift cars for me. These posts are making me finger the key to my storage bay to have a look at what ive got leftover from years past that might work as a base for drifting these days lol.
Too bad all the touring cars from my era had horrible suspension geometries and about 30 degrees of lock. AWD just masked the horrible arm angles.
I do recall removing the middle belt from a few of my nitro touring cars to make them RWD and having a blast skidding around with my buddies around courses we made from PVC pipe straightaways pressed into the open end of those floating pool noodles for turns. The smoke from the nitro engines made it look like we were doing real skids. no plastic tires back then, our cars had healthy nitro and rubber appetites. I had about 1600 USD wrapped up in my old top tier touring car. carbon fiber and billet aluminum everywhere, 1.25hp motor, 2 speed transmission. THAT car, when switched to RWD, would decimate a pair of rears in just a couple laps.
One of these days im going to a formula drift event with my nitro monster and see how well the electric AWD cars stack up against the power of FUEL
hahah sorry to ramble, this post brought me WAAAAy down memory lane. My RC car life became real car life nearly 15 years ago.
Yikes Dino, thanks for making me feel old!
F1 politics is worse than watching American datyime TV.
If I were Mark Webber, I would have sprayed more champagne in Vettels eyes on the podium, and then took a dump in his sleeping quarters where he wouldnt know it until he got cozy in the sheets.
Dino, tell me something about japanese culture; I dont see any security gates on that store front. Is this common in Japan? I hear theft is nearly nonexistent, but so much so that a staple in American mall shopping, The Storefront Security Gate, isnt nearly as widely used in Japan?
If so, that just solidifies my incredible respect for the Japanese culture.
@OtakuTaikun My buddys battered RPS13 has a pair of coupe tail lights ziptied to it to satisfy road legality. They were just sitting around his shop and he needed tail lights to drive to an event, they actually hold better than the OEM tails did.
i had to quickly scroll through this story because my eyes started to implode.
apparently my optic nerve is not equipped for this sort of sensory barrage.
i must find my sunglasses.
thanks larry...
:)
SC400 auto 1UZ, hydraulics, black small wheels (i vote 100spoke 13" wire daytons, yes, in black. no chrome), whitewalls, and ceiling tassles.
fender mirrors, roof rack with random awesome shit on it, battleship grey paint with B52 bomber style nose art.
and a justin beiber tribute in the back like those japanese tribute cars, but way more demonic and fucked up. lipstick over his face and X's scratched over his eyes. weird shit, keep the theme running.
will it make KERS and DRS any less boring?
I bet the nuts and bolts even have threads and can be removed.
I met a guy who had a 1:5 scale chevy V8 machined and built. ran and everything. too bad making a gearbox that small would have cost so much, i would have loved to see it put into an RC car.
well duh, you dont build the fastest FWD car in japan without knowing something!
all seriousness though, 5zigen Inperio RS1s are like my fantasy wheel for some reason.
