@CharlesAkimoto Scary Pho To-Chau. I got scoldings there. "Half noodle for you next time!" yikes! haha I still went back and she remembered me. I swear they have photographic memory.

Kiwami Ramen was a total turn off for me. Maybe they had an off day. Hokkaido Ramen Santouka however has very consistent noodles. Good choices you visited.

I've been to some on your list. My favorite is still Pho Thinh 2080 S King St.
Pizza, garlic knots? I'm so there and it's BYOB! Sweet

Considering my glasses broke in the car on the way to Costco (Don't worry I wasn't driving) and I was blind holding onto my better half (inside Costco) I really need to figure out a way to do Lasik as well. Dr. Jenkins is at the top of my list.

Those fried haupia is the bomb! Lucky for me it was breezy and there was lots of shade in their canopy. And OMG the chicken was really crispy (me think the Vodka is yummy). Not to mention the shoyu pork. Oh my it was really soft and oishi!

Pain is never fun, but there is hope for many who are injured to find different careers and you are one of the very lucky but well deserving of a career that includes food, fun and events.

@janjeerah If a candidate will do this alone, then I'm all for it. After all we are electing the candidate right. My issue is the mass number of people on a sidewalk at any given gathering trying to get your attention to HONK in support of their candidate.
1 month ago on Wave bye to sign waving
The excessive amount of these political supporters on "sidewalks" and each of them peering out onto on coming traffic is scary! I don't honk or even look for fear of rear ending a car or a pedestrian. Tradition or not it's a safety issue and a big one at that.
sweet. now you're part of the super cool peeps! lol

Interesting! Not sure if I fit into this group but sounds interesting and love learning more about the social aspect of the impact it's going to make.
This is an ultra cool venue. Enjoyed the movie and the signature beach looking chairs were very comfortable. I'm marking this on my calendar to attend every month!

@nonstopmari Yep missed that one. Had a migraine before any tasting happened that day.. LOL Thanks for the 411 I'm looking to get tickets for a friend and I already bought the early entrance. This girl needs to eat before any tasting this year.

Chee Hoo! I'm a big fan of Joy of Sake! But where's the exclusive discount code?
You're right. If not for the name I don't think I would think of stopping.

So the light bulb finally went on for me..... Eat sushi how the chef intended. Never mind my small mouth, get the full experience on the joy of its intention. Took me this long to realize that key point. Maybe if I throttle back on the bevy I can visit Sasabune soon. Thanks for the tip M.C.!

My better half is more romantic than I am. Hence "better half".... I'll surprise him and take him to see this movie. It should give him the idea that I'm still worth it. hahaha

@nonstopmari Restaurant inside a furniture store? There's nothing wrong with that fabulous idea. The way Kakaako is growing he's ahead of the trend. I've seen only a few more like this (can't think which ones just yet), and I'm in love with the ambiance it brings. After all, we all like to eat "comfort" foot (pun intended). My salad was excellent especially with all the crunch going on.

The crab past, and cheezy gyoza... OMG, speechless.

I enjoy food and so I've opted to "share" my food most of the time with the better half. Instead of ordering two plates just order one with toss salad instead of mac & or rice.

Ok I was smart enough to go early! Figured I go a little healthy since I indulge so much lol. The salad dressing I got was "Asian" and it was oishi.
3 months ago on Something new: Aloha Cones
@Myong @iamwhite Yes, that would be something different. Like a huge nori cone, but I guess it would need to be inside of a paper cone. Hmmm not sure if it still counts...
I've only started eating Natto a year ago. Look at what I've been missing--, an entire community of foodies was hiding from me!

Interesting place. My first perception of this place "scary". Maybe it's the entrance that's got me spooked. But great honest review. I think I'll go just to try the mandoo looks yummy.

I'm excited! Didn't know about this place and glad I read your review! I'm going there today and have myself a jar of greens, with the jar of course. What a cool what to have lunch.

Totally spot on Mari! I still find my self arranging my food and taking pictures with enough lighting. Only to find that my food has gotten cold. This habit of mines has gotten so out of control that I needed to purchase a mophie to ensure my smart phone still has life. Not sure if anyone pays attention to the variety of food I eat but yes, I do it because I love food. And like Myong mentioned, just because a small group of people eat at a "new" place (repeatedly - same small group) doesn't mean it's all what's cracked up to be. To each his/her own.

A good whiskey makes the taste buds do the happy dance. My current favorite this year is the #1 American Whiskey - Balcones. Although you can't buy it in Hawaii, if you make a trip out to California you find it at Total Wines & Spirits.

I couldn't agree more. Thank you for articulating it for me :-) The undeserved buzz of recent and revisited food establishments is making me question the authenticity. Maybe I'm a shopaholic instead of a foodie? Yes, that's it! I need to shop more. hahaha
