Damn, has it been so long already?! Seems like yesterday when i read
the first entry on this site.I must also say that I greatly miss "auto
otaku" and the coverage from there. Although you have Dino there
shooting away i can't help but miss the early days with Mike.
I really must comend you Rod, for starting this site. My horizons have been broadened tenfold
from 90's Hondas to almost everything with engines and wheels on them.
I'm pretty sure many a car-enthusiast have had the same experience as
me too, at least the ones i know from where i live.
up the good work! Whatever you wish to do next i am sure it will work
out for you just as good as it has done with Speedhunters.
should try to
hire Joey Lee of "The Chronicles" as his site is the only other site i
follow on a day to day basis, subjecting many of the import car-shows in the US and the people surrounding them ;)

A Saab 99 with an engine from a 9-3 Viggen would be cool and very uncommon as you probably very rarely see those cars anywhere, even in Scandinavia.

Twincharge the stock engine! ;) Combine a turbo-kit and supercharger kit as i know they both exist as "bolt-on" parts to this car.
Functional wheels and sticky r-compound tires, make everything in the suspension adjustable.
Win at SEMA, then scrape the floor with all at the tracks! ;)

Why are your TÜV-approved Variant 1,2 & 3 coilover-suspensions for a 1998 civic coupe so stiff at the front vs. the rear? This is more or less the only thing keeping me from buying them.

Love how this thing was in the local newspapers because of the air-intake that the Norwegian Police didn't like :p

I'm so damn envious of the amount of motivation you must've had to actually go through with this build.

I'm seriously envious of this guy. I'm 22 myself, did a turbo-conversion on my civic in the winter and had a hard time finishing it because of lack of motivation. I wish i knew what this guy is "on" to do everything he's done.

That movie Christian is talking about is in Norway a sort of christmas traditon. It is aired at 23rd of december every year. Actually last year Koenigsegg and Remo Caprino (the son of the maker of the movie, i think) had a small race at Rudskogen against a replica of the car in the movie. The model Christian has on his desk in one of the photos.

That's an awesome EK, but how on earth do you manage to fit 8 inch wide wheels in there? I currently have 7x16 wheels with a +40 offset and they are just flat with the wheel-arch.
If you see these cars in action you will understand! Although the can't use ati-lag, the choice of dumping a large volume of race-gas in-between gear-changes help spool the turbocharger almost as good.

@jonas maurstad Being a welder by trade i learned that a nice looking weld isn't necessarily a good weld. What often matters more is material penetration and a solid bond between the materials.
2 years, 6 months ago on Are You The Speedhunter?
Not that i like to bash on this immacualte car, which i have experienced up close myself, but i think he should have put some more work in his welding which look like the welding i can find in badly assembled ship-hulls.

People i know that live within 10km from Rudskogen say they can hear the cars like they are coming up their own driveway so i'm not surprised that they complain. Vålerbanen which is the first stop for gatebil is deep inside a industrial-area but ONE house is situated there and they complain like hell :p Racetracks should get their own planet.

Not really digging the oval-part of nascar but the engineering-part is very impressive, a V8 that revs to almost 10k is not something you see every day..

Keep doing what you do and show different types of content, like some other series or just whole other forms of motorsport.
2 years, 10 months ago on What Is Speedhunting?
That sounds a whole lot like the rules in Norway too, impossible to get a RHD car registered now and the few skylines that are registered cost a fortune. If you want to import ant kind of car they charge you atleast twice the cars price to even get it registered. It is just easier to get money out of it instead of using money to care of the problem.
