I have to wonder why they're adding this to the next iPhone (if this is actually going to be added for sure). I mean it's great for those who like that extra security but it's going to be an eyesore for those who don't really want it. Maybe as a hardware option it would excel in usefulness :/

I really hope they don't go through with this. It's not that I don't want Apple to try new things or integrate current tech trends but this is too cheap of a Waze imitation. Waze is near flawless the way it is and they should seriously consider integrating it with Apple maps the way it is with Yelp. That right there would be amazing and groundbreakingly new. Google may have bought Waze but it's not likely to have tight integration with Android phones until later

I'd love to see a smartwatch concept that uses something other than Bluetooth that still allows close-range data exchange. Bluetooth is such a battery killer to smartphones. I'll use Bluetooth connections for my car or my portable speaker but that's only because I have the option of charging it (USB input in car or USB wall charger [it's unlikely that I'll be using a Bluetooth speaker at an inopportune time])

I agree with all these suggested features except the last 2, automatic app updating and multitasking. The automatic app updating would be horrible for one main reason, not all updates are necessary or good. I used to use iHome+Sleep all the time but ever since they screwed everything up in December 2011, I haven't used it at all. The multitasking, while limited, isn't that bad to me. Sure, I'd love to see a preview and all like I do on my MacBook Pro but I can live without it since iPhone batteries are only "ok". I can't really relate at all to the whole "delete from multitasking dock" bit, it isn't that difficult for me to swipe through my apps and touch the minus icon for the ones I want gone. If you want to delete them all from multitasking memory, just keep your finger on the same point as the minus icon for the first app in the dock and continue tapping repeatedly. Also, I'm surprised this article didn't mention personalized file management and such for certain apps and their files. I for one wouldn't mind sending small-sized work files (that aren't pictures or videos) to other cell phones if I need to. I can do this with iMessage on my MacBook but I'd love to do that on the go via iPhone too.

I definitely welcome this addition. I may not be able to do this now since I already have a car but its nice to know it could be added to future cars all the same. I'd love using this feature since I use Waze every time I drive ;)

Didn't really make a difference to me. For looking up addresses, I just used Safari google search and for navigation, I just used Waze (free) which is better than Apple Maps and Google Maps altogether. People were so overly dramatic about the maps issue when they could just search via Safari and copy the address to Waze for navigation.

1 year, 9 months ago on Apple has discussed 'iTV' with major US cable operators, but don't expect the product just yet

I would work on separate kinds of accessories that could work with the iPhone. Like a separate kind of button (to attach anywhere) that could work with Siri (for those that have cars without the dedicated Siri button in the future). A semi-expensive second screen that could stick to a steering wheel to relay info such as GPS directions, texts, traffic, etc (any app could use this screen to relay helpful info). And maybe offer the option to upgrade the hardware in iPhones such as swappable speakers, better camera lenses, a higher quality flash bulb, memory upgrade, etc :)

Batteries like these aren't that worth it, even if you can make it talk or do other things. It's most important function is providing back-up power in the form of a battery pack. The best ones I've ever seen online are the ones provided by NewTrent. They have different battery capacities and different sizes to suit your needs. All in all, NewTrent is more worth it for your money. Their best battery pack, while kinda bulky, has a 12,000 mAh battery with 2 USB ports; all for $77 plus tax and shipping. So much more worth it than any other battery packs I've seen that aren't integrated with phone cases

I find the ad ridiculously stupid. Big whoop that the Lumia comes in ugly colors without a case. People typically put  a case on their smartphones anyways and colors are available in many varieties. This ad was poorly marketed. And even if the iPhone came in a colors that weren't the usual black and white, I doubt anyone would freak out unless the usual black and white color options weren't available anymore

I'm not really that concerned with HD voice because it seems like it's the kind of thing to turn on when you have a bad cell signal. The one thing AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint need to do for iPhones on their networks is to allow calls to be made through WiFi but at the same time using minutes in a minute plan. It's the perfect solution to most cell signal dilemmas and it's pretty useful for a daily use thing as well. It doesn't really sound that difficult if T-Mobile can do this for their Android phones. But I digress

I'd be hoarding old models when it came to non-iPhone apple tech. You never know if someone would buy those old models if it so suits them and they can also serve as usable back-ups for current product models if you need to use them for that purpose. If it were an iPhone, I would sell it in a heartbeat if I had the cash to cancel my contract and get the latest iPhone. iPhones are judged differently in terms of usability, thanks to their iOS updates. The 3GS may be supported now for iOS updates but it's definitely half-baked with less features.
