You are doing remarkable work, sir.

To clarify my sacrilege: I hardly think Super Mario Bros is anywhere near being the best game, nor even my favorite. But it would be folly for me to pretend like another game had more of an impact on my life. Long may the plumber reign. #GameOverkill
Huh. Might have to pick this one up. Good review!

@Bigjoe91 Even better, I have written two different articles on this site to specifically cover animal abuse in NES games... and what did I use as the banner image for those features? -- http://1morecastle.com/2012/09/animal-abuse-in-nes-games-part-2/

@OcarinaOfTom @NintendoLegend @the_valerie Do not worry, the bitter taste left in your mouth from that extremely "meh" Wii stuff is not present in Thousand Year Door.
5 months, 1 week ago on N64 Review #13 – Paper Mario
@the_valerie I like Thousand Year Door as a sequel study, because it is not drastically different -- it is very much like Paper Mario, just with nifty additions. I, too, was going to recommend it.

You are officially the only human being to have been a fan of the Earthworm Jim cartoon before the video game. Also, if you like Earthworm Jim... you have to try Earthworm Jim 2. Great sequel, just more of the same zaniness -- with additional weapons, too.
7 months, 1 week ago on Earthworm Jim
@Aggro Sky For the record, I totally understand the argument that it is not a "real" Super Mario World sequel -- I just think it's a great game! :) But thank you, friend... I am not quite achieving the longform heights you did, but I am always someone who will advocate for the format. Hopefully the Castle really can have a little bit of everything for everybody.

@smearedink I admit, it was difficult to resist the temptation to include a Mario game. But they break down interestingly, when you consider their simplicity. They each have an 'excuse.'Super Mario Bros -- Well, jeepers, this was like THE FIRST NES GAME, y'know? Can you blame them? But even then, you have three different Mario sprites going on, and that triumphant raised fist busting bricks is kinda iconic.Super Mario Bros 2 -- Crazy, spastic jump animations... and I sorta like it that way. Four different characters. Not only do they animate differently, but they all jump differently as well, in terms of pure mechanics. The Princess floats, remember? Good stuff here.Super Mario Bros 3 -- So many different Marios, yet sticking to the classic original, in terms of the basic art idea. Which, to me, is a fitting and altogether perfect tribute. Long live the Mario jump sprite legacy.
And yet, yeah, basic compared to Kirby, lol.
