Why are Samsung and HTC the "bad guys" for enforcing their patents? What does that make Apple when they enforce theirs? Why the double standard? Just a few questions to ponder while we wait to see what happens. Hopefully, Samsung and HTC will get as fair a shake as Apple has received in their own patent proceedings. And if there's a threat of banning sale of the iPad and new iPhone, then perhaps Apple will be prepared to act more reasonably.

@BrandonMoore  @TheTechChat Honestly, I'm not following you. HTC has patents around LTE technology (and we don't know what specifically, could be the phone chipset, could be software that runs it, who knows), and HTC believes Apple infringes on those patents. Doesn't matter who else uses "LTE" (which is a name given to a whole host of pieces that make up the spec), this is about HTC suing Apple.

@BrandonMoore LTE is made up of various inventions, which could certainly be patented. Why should those patents not be enforced? In all likelihood, they're probably bona fide inventions to boot, unlike some of Apple's patents that seem like mere ideas, have plenty of prior art, or are overly vague and broad.

I think he means using the Nexus 7 to root another Android device, not rooting the Nexus 7 itself.

1280X752? Better be a 7" tablet, because that resolution won't fly any longer on a standard 10" tablet.

I'm sure that in 2015 I'll be enjoying Sprint's LTE performance in my area (which still doesn't have Wimax, and of course never will). That is, I'll be enjoying it if I'm still with Sprint in 2015, which I doubt. 3G performance is so bad now (it's literally in dialup territory) that I'll be leaving Sprint as soon as I can get out of my contract.

The GT 7.0 Plus should be quite a bit quicker than the GT 2 7.0, having Exynos vs. OMAP 4430. I found the 2 7" to be too slow for my tastes.

I think you're being a little hyperbolic in terms of the app situation. At this point, I've found there to be pretty close to app parity between Android smartphones and the iPhone. Yes, some apps are only on iOS, some aren't as good, and they come to iOS first. But that gap has shortened to the point where I don't think there's much you can do on an iPhone that you can't do on an Android smartphone. So, "No apps" is a bit of an overstatement.

Now, if we were talking about tablets, that would be a different discussion...
