You rock, and so does Maria!
Perfect timing on this post. How did you know, Randy??? Thank you :)
I'm with Phil; this post is a home-run. The changing dynamic and demands in the workplace (partially as a result of the economy) almost requires employees to demonstrate the entrepreneurial drive, spirit and initiative. The companies that frown on this, and the people who walk by desks with raised eyebrows, are frightening at best.
Elissa,
Your post is truly insightful on several different levels.
Like you, I always have my radar on when citizen journalism is involved. All of the examples you mentioned, along with the lame commentaries and factual errors from Matt Lauer and colleagues, makes me fearful for what the next week holds for us.
The #NBCFail hashtag that gained traction in a matter of minutes/hours will make for a great case studies and teachable moments for PR pros and universities throughout the world.
We are in uncharted waters here. I am not sure if I am impressed, or just want to cry. Time will tell.
Best regards,
Susan
Great post, Kim. Anyone remember Totie Fields? She was always in the Catskills and on the Mike Douglas Show! Some of my family's best memories are going up to the Catskills (From Jersey) with our synagogue group every President's Day weekend in February. Places like Kutshers, the Concord, and the Raleigh. LOL
Thanks for the kind words, Deb and Anne. Yes, lots of human nuances that few people and companies realize. Deb, team support: Critical. You are lucky!
