I took my three year old in the grocery store on foot without a cart thinking that it would be a quick in and out. He ran all the way from the frozen food section to the lobsters in the seafood section with me (7 months pregnant with a basket full of groceries) running after him trying to get his attention. Then in the line up he picked up every single chocolate bar and asked to have it. Then while I was paying he nearly knocked down a whole display of snow shovels. Then when it was time to walk out - me with a bag of groceries in each hand, he ran to the other side of the store. Once I got him in my grip, we walked out of the store but not without him flinging himself to the ground in the middle of a cross walk, in the parking lot. Needless to say, I will be using a cart next time.

It's actually really nice to hear that everyone goes through these issues, sometimes it can be really isolating and you think to yourself that you have literally the worst behaved child ever. But it's not true. They all act like assholes at least some of the time.

I completely agree!

"Floor vaccumed, dishes done, kids sparkling clean, roast in the oven, diapers drying, time to make some homemade enviromentally safe, toxin free, parbon free, endocrine disrupter free, edible finger paint for the kids."

Like are you fucking kidding me.

I deactivated my facebook account almost a year ago. Mostly because I didn't agree with their privacy policies and the fact that they sell your information - likes, interests, location etc. to companies for profit. It seems INSANE to me. It has been extremely refreshing. It's a different story for me because I didn't have 100's of online followers or a blog so mostly I was just giving up contact with people I could easily contact personally, or through e-mail or twitter. Anyone else that I didn't talk to on a regular basis or was an old high school friend etc. didn't matter. I mean in the 90's we didn't have facebook and life was still good, we kept in touch with who we wanted to talk too and making a personal contact with someone was more meaningful and important. Facebook makes it far to easy for people to lerk around in ever aspect of your life that back 10 years ago you wouldn't have even have shown them a picture of your children upon running into them at a grocery store.

Omg! I'm so sorry Gina. I wonder if it's the same person who called the police on you for your "suicide attempt". You're such a fabulous person and we all love how real you are - or we wouldn't read your blog. The people who did that is obvious just trying to stir up shit. Keep your head up, lady! :)

They are all really great!! Some of my favorites are the "Breastfeeding in Public", "Formula Falsehoods" and ones on cloth diapering. It educated and inspired me enough to my nearly two and a half year old completely on cloth diapers, and I absolutely love her for it. Her passion is so contagious.

I want to win this pump because I had such a hard time breastfeeding with my first baby. We have our second child on the way and it would be a huge relief to know that I have this amazing back up to help build my milk supply in the beginning if latching isn't going so great (like my first babes). I am completely dedicated to bfing this time, and I want to be able to build a incredible milk supply because my goal is to start donating breastmilk (this stuff is like GOLD, people). When I have an abundant enough supply. This pump would totally turn that dream into reality, but I know with the upcoming cost of hiring my doula, placenta encapsalation, etc, that getting an amazing pump like this wouldn't be in the budget.

I am so thrilled you wrote about this! I follow your blog faithfully but have never commented before. You're a super big inspiration to me and I actually found you while looking for Doula podcasts. You should totally start podcasting again. They were so informative!  I was always interested to hear more about your doulaing side as well:) I've been looking forward to taking my DONA training session since the fall and it's finally happening THIS weekend, so, perfect time for you to post this. I am so amped now!!
