I'd put an old un-juiced Mark McGwire at first base before letting Uribe play.
@toomanyhatz He was the best free agent on the market this year, and the Dodgers wanted him.The Giants won because of their pitching. The Dodgers needed to upgrade their rotation. I wouldn't want to spend that much money either, but he was close to going with Texas. The Dodgers did what they needed to do to be competitive.
Kershaw will be expensive. No doubt. I doubt he would turn down a deal in the $27-29 million per year range. He is still young, and the kind of security that grants is hard to turn down. What if he gets a career ending injury this year? I'm sure he wants to sign long term now. If he is happy in LA, he will sign for under $30 million/year (yet still be the highest paid pitcher in baseball).

Dee Gordon needs to start hitting the ball on the ground. I am so tired of him popping/flying out. It's gotten to the point, I want to see him start doing pushups on the field every time he hits one in the air!
