Good decision! I relate to the feeling of being "sped up"--I hate it and I hate how I allow myself to recreate it after I work hard on upping the self-care and the saying no.

Whew! It is so much and it is also all SO good!
Your MPH program sounds great. My MSW program was 60 hours (I guess I didn't realize so many master's programs are shorter) and had an 800 hour practicum as well as a 300 hour. But...I had no kids while I was doing it! I think virtually all degree programs should involve a field placement. I hope you find a perfect one!

Congratulations! That's wonderful! I'm not a first generation college grad. My parents and maternal grandparents all have/had college degrees. I finished high school when I was 15 and went to college right after that, finishing my BA at 19 and my MSW at 21. I'm working on my doctoral degree currently (I'm 33 now though!). I do think there is a lot of value in "seeing the world" before going to college, I also think that if you know what you want to do, there is also nothing wrong with going straight to college. While the texture of my interests have changed since I was 15, I'm still doing exactly the kind of work I always said I wanted to do. As a student in Psychology Club at the university I attended, I always used to write down that my primary interest/area of study was "women's issues." Guess what? Still is. ;-D
