How is it that Van Slyke, a guy who ONLY exists for his bat, has fewer pinch hitting appearances than Justin Turner and Chone Figgins?  And has the same number of pinch hitting appearances as Mike Baxter, a guy who was DFA'd almost two weeks ago now?

@capnsparrow Not in this situation.  Not down by 1 on the road with just 1 more set of at bats to go.

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

What's your fucking excuse Mattingly?

For a manager who loves to play the lefty righty matchups from a pitching standpoint, Mattingly just absolutely does not understand how to handle the situation from the other perspective.

Remember when Donnie benched Uribe for like a whole month in 2012?  Why the hell doesn't he just do the same with League?

@Tired Math Cat @nvpuckstopper @Lobo @efb Probably, but I've never watched a men's softball game so i don't know for sure.  I'm just going off of my limited experience watching women's college softball (Alabama is one of the top teams in the nation)

Does Don legitimately think League is going to suddenly turn it around?  Or is he trying to make League blow as many games as possible so he'll finally be cut?

@efb @nvpuckstopper Well in women's softball the starters pitch the whole game pretty much every time, but I don't think that's what he was going for here

I feel like other fans go through the same things we do here but goddam if the Dodgers don't just feel like the most bipolar team ever.  One day they play great, good defense, good offense, good everything and then the next they just look terrible on everything

@Disgruntled Goat @Lobo @P_F_P I'm not the biggest Capra fan overall.  Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is pretty great but It's a Wonderful Life is his only movie that I really truly love and I fully admit that it's for fairly personal reasons

@brendanl99 @Lobo @Tired Math Cat @Hoze The right hand rule is easy, the only problem with it is that there's about 5 different right hand rules that you have to know when to apply.  They most just have to deal with cross products though and determining the perpendicular direction of the cross product.  Once that was explained to me it became pretty easy to know which right hand rule to apply when

@KMT59 @Lobo @brendanl99 @Tired Math Cat @Hoze Yep.  All goes back to PV=nRT.  n and R are constants so the other three have to change in accordance with each other to maintain an equilibrium

@brendanl99 @Tired Math Cat @Noel D @Lobo @Hoze If you have a completely deflated basketball and pump air into it you get the same results as I described in the situation with a balloon
