This is an impressively astute take on a subject I've long tried to understand. I grew up in Central Texas, so I've always loved the Spurs. But the basketball fan in me has always been sure I loved them for more reasons than simple fandom. The way they approach everything is elegant in its selflessness and efficiency. Those qualities make for a likeable group of guys and (as we're seeing again this year) extremely effective basketball.
This article also made me thirsty for whiskey and coffee, so thanks.
