The whole argument about subsidized pricing is old. If buy the phone subsidized and then immediately cancel, you are still going to pay the ETF, so you are still paying for the phone. I have no idea what unlocking a cell phone has to do with copyright. You bought the damn phone, you should be able to use it where you want.
Its flat out ridiculous. By the time its back in stock, it will be irrelevant.
Why the heck are they re-releasing a last gen phone. They would be like apple coming out with an iPhone 4s Plus now.
yeah, but how easy would it be for him to just do the jailbreak work under a different name
I just use google wallet which now that it allows me to use any card is all that I need.
kind of hard to try it, considering they are only allowing one phone to be unlocked
not sure*
We still have Alltel here and in the other 2 cities I've lived in in the past 2 years. My parent still have Alltel, so I'm sure how they could shut the data network down when they are still selling phones that use the data.
I'll second the anyone but samsung idea. I've owned multiple samsung android phones and they've all had nothing but problems. This includes the Samsung Moment, Samsung Intercept, Galaxy S Fascinate, Droid Charge, and Galaxy Nexus. I went through EIGHT galaxy nexus phones all with the one way muting issue, and they finally let me have a Razr Maxx instead. I had loads of other problems with all the others too. This is on top of the fact that they all feel like plasticy junk. How about hire someone to make the phone that knows what metal is.
there can be an upgrade and the phone still remain on the same version of android. My razr was on 2.3.4 for 2 upgrades before upgrading to 2.3.6. Also, this was the prototype version of the droid bionic before they changed the design, while this isn't the publicly released version of the droid bionic, it is indeed a droid bionic.
@Spoken Word If they don't force me onto another plan, I don't care what they do, but the minute they take away my unlimited data will be the minute I leave to go to Sprint. Previously I lived in an area where Verizon was the only decent option, but now I'm moving to a big city where just about every carrier in America picks up, so I have plenty of options.
@jrcrow79 I have 3 4g phones with unlimited data. If I'm ever forced to change to the tiered crap then I'm out. My main problem isn't the amount of data as I've only went over 4 gbs one time in the entire time I've had verizon. My problem is that I get a 20% feature discount on my unlimited data plan which makes it $24 bucks a month and they want me to pay $30 a month for less service than I'm getting now because the feature discount only applies to a tiered plan of $45 or greater. Now cell phones are bad enough but what I'm really not looking forward to is the day ISPs start putting small limits like these on their plans. I mean 250gb or whatever some are doing now isn't that bad but when they start doing something like 30gb or something that's going to really suck.
@DavidIvey1 ATT has already been doing this when you switch between different types of phones. I just like you however will be headed to sprint as soon as verizon decides they don't want my business enough to take away my unlimited data. The bad thing is in the entire time I've had Verizon (10+ years), I've only went over 4gbs one time and that was like 4.1gb which is the current tiered plan I could get. Its just the principal of the underhanded things they've been doing lately that is making me mad.
