Depends on where you get your info from. Some sources say Sony bought them and closed them down. Others are saying that they were closing and Sony is buying their patents.

@JimGriffiths I'd be willing to bet that CCP is well aware of the potental legal issues involved if they tried to SELL this Disc Arena...according to the post, this is currenty just a lab experiment to see what can be done with the tech.

I do like story, but it's difficult. TSW has some of the best stories around, but to get them in there it messes with the mechaics (especially grouping). I also appreciate GW2's story in that you weren't the center of attention; as an important participant I think that gave the narrative a lot of leeway as to why you weren't always at the forefront, and how EVERYONE could ALSO be an important participant.

@captainzor Ha...well, if you're talking about the cinematic trailers, then those are a bit...overstated. They do have "Conflict Zones" which ARE giant furballs which you can jump into, pick a side to support, and the blast away at the opposition. Those usually show up in sectors where's there's contention between the major factions, and can be found by parsing the in-game lore news feed, GalNet, or often times by logically going where conflict might be happening (on the periphery between faction zones, for example).

@captainzor Sadly, not much. Right now, they ask you to hunt down an NPC by name (or by type, like merchants) and give you a vague sector or two where they might be found. You then fly around the system and investigate Unidentified Signal Sources until you find who you need.
Sometimes the NPC is designed to offer you a counter-mission; you can opt to not blow them up, and in exchange they'll pay you more or less than the original bounty. The possible advantage to this is that the eventual outcome can change your reputation rewards. Since the "point" of the game is to gain Elite status in different areas, this could be a benefit to those who value rep over cash.
@captainzor Very easy. Take a bounty mission, or head to a Resource Extraction Site and there's dozens of PvE targets flying around.
