@DBrim Oh yeah, not expecting any ground-breaking TV, but just a good, solid show.

@Lobo I started it (with the wife) in like August. So, we slacked off for a bit.

The new front office was not only brought in to build a champion and all that other PR/company line garbage, it was brought in to be more efficient with the resources available.

There doesn't need to be a 9-figure signing of a player for it to be an upgrade. Chris Hatcher on the minimum is a massive upgrade rather than paying Sergio Romo $16 million over two years. Ownership doesn't want to pay the luxury tax every year, so this payroll will eventually come in at < $189 million. Now, that's not to say they'll pass on David Price after Zack Greinke opts out, but they aren't going to sign multiple free agents every year to highly lucrative contracts. Look how well it has worked out in Anaheim with Pujols and Hamilton.

There are other ways to be competitive and use the vast wealth of this ownership group other than throwing $200 million at every good free agent on the market.

Olivera's age, health and lack of MLB experience come into play when determining a potential contract offer. If you want to simplify it, 4/50 or 5/70 (or whatever it ends up being) is a bargain for a starting third baseman with at least an average bat and glove.

Comment From Jim K

Scott Schebler has killed it statistically the past few years. At 24, he’s a bit old for a guy who hasn’t played above AA. Have you seen him? Do you think there’s major league value there?

Kiley McDaniel: Yep, saw him in AFL and liked him and got even more positive reports than I expected in past week on him. He’s a guy to watch, definite MLB value of some kind.

What is chris Andersons ceiling if he stops walking batters like he did on the last month of the season?
Kiley McDaniel: 3rd starter stuff when he’s right

Have to remember: He's a free agent after the year and the acquiring team couldn't give him a qualifying offer. Lessens his trade value.

Honestly not sure. I'm leaning toward yes, but it's like a 55/45 yes.

@snaggletooth1 @I Digesti Those are probably misclassified sinkers/2-seamers. Davis touched 100 MPH at least a couple times last season, but max velocity and average velocity are two different things.
