My Essence Awards outfit would be basic with a pop of color.  A little black dress with a cutout back and bright yellow platform heels and fire engine-red lips.  I would curl my sister locks in big loose curls and wear minimal jewelry.  My statement piece would be my shoes and of course my smile.
