We try to represent all healing classes at healingmains.com also general guild and raid information. We try to help new players and we also direct healers to other resources for things we don't write. (Like class guides and gear lists)
After becoming restless with our previous guild, (of which my spouse was the GM), we decided to server transfer to be on the same server with friends, though my spouse joined a progressive guild on the server...when Cataclysm was announced, the guild folded. Since we couldn't find a guild that suited our raiding needs (progressive without raiding 4 to 5 hours a night) and also raided when we could be online (after 8pm central time) we decided to form our own guild again. After nearly all of cataclysm, I became the guild master. We started out as the Cake Eaters...with it being a mighty ducks reference...many people didn't get it (I guess we're "old"). We had been using the gingerbread man for our guild tabbard icon for a bit already, so when guild name changes came out we took suggestions to a new name, ultimately Angry Gingers became our name, it is technically after the gingerbread icon, which looks perpetually angry and partially because we knew it would be funny.
I didn't get to raid in BC. Oh I was drug through Kara a couple times on my hunter once the attunements went away, but it's not really raiding when you're being carried though is it? I started playing right before the Troll Raid came out in BC, and by time I hit 70 on my first character, Sunwell daily's were out. Though I did enjoy the lore aspect, it really left a bad taste for me.
I've been having fun on the beta and finally healed my first (non-heroic) instance last night...oh it was so exciting to heal something both *new* and in a different (non add-on) way! I had been waiting for my friends to go in with me before I used them as lab rats for healing without any addon bwahaha!
But, in our guild I just shoot rockets at the raid leader....he sits about 5ft behind me you know. :P
Great advise though, I can't begin to describe the involuntary eye twitches I get when people come to me with...venting and no suggestions to what could be done to fix the matter...or better yet, admitting they are actually a part of the problem as well!
I regret not buying the CE for at least one of the household here, but I wasn't even sure I would play my copy before I tried it. I did not get into the beta so I didn't touch it until it released. We may look for it again later, but...lesson learned.
This sounds nearly exactly like mine and "kurt's" experience with Cata.....by time we hit 85 I was so grumpy all I wanted to do was sleep! And forget conversation....we were ready to KILL each other we were so grumpy!
Wow Matt, should we change this "I am the grand daddy master chief emperor penguin priest guy." to include wordpress too? Lot's of great information here, and it's greatly appreciated.
