I just have a few questions for you guys

Why is it Serena's domination bad for women's tennis? Everyone loved superhuman Roger! Double standard anyone?

DId you guys check the French Open website where Michael Joyce (Sharapova's coach)  basicallly said Maria has no chance. They even went as far as saying with the way Maria plays, she can't beat Serena and will struglle against Vika. This is a weird thing for a coach to say.

The part about the doubles is wrong. Why shouldn't a tournament try to accomodate a player playing more than 1 event? That's added stress on their body too Nadal. I'm a big Nadal fan, but Serena is right, he is a big weenie lol.

@colleen661 Patience is a biggy. We talk about that 1st round loss, but I think people seem to forget that as horribly as she played, she still was only 2 points away from winning that match. It was all nerves and NO patience

Serena is playing great. Serena was playing great last year. There is one glaring difference however. Serena was winning last year hitting opponents off the court. Serena is winning now with a bigger emphasis on placement, variety, and angles while still harnessing that supreme power. This is why I feel more confident about her chances. Power works sometimes, placement works ALL the time!

I am by no means a tennis expert, but I really think court speed is irrelevant. I think the ability to slide on clay is what makes it harder to hit through. Sliding almost adds a step when going for a ball. Again, I could be wrong, but I don't think it matters. Serena won in Rome on the slower clay, just didn't finish the tournament.

I know it has to be hard for Sharapova. You're the ultimate comptetitor but there is one person that hands you your behind time and time again. Not even being shady, just being real. As competitive as I am, it would eat me alive. Give her credit though, she doesn't accept it

Although it has been 11 straight, maria has come to play in some of those. 2005 AO, 2008 Charleston, 2010 Wimbledon, 2013 Miami (before the 10 straight games)....so we'll see

maria thinks her best shot to beat Serena is on grass, but I say red clay. The biggest thing that normally seperates these two in matches is Serena's serve. It won't play as big a factor on red clay. I still think Serena will win, but it will be tight

I just watched it my biggest takeaway is that Oracene needs her own reality show or somebody needs to do a piece called "s**t Oracene says." Every one of her moments was funny, insightful, or a combination. My personal favorite was when they asked her about the grunting and she quoted Shakespeare lmao. And then she walked away like "I can't believe they just asked me that" LMAO!

Maria and Serena for another final would only add to the domination that Serena, Maria, and Vika have put on the WTA Tour. Check these stats out:

The past year and a half there have been 5 grand slams, 6 premier mandatory, 1 wta championship and 1 olympic games. One of these women won one of these tournaments 12 of the 13 times. The lone outsider is when #4 (not at the time) Radwanska won Miami last year.

Also, of those 13 tournaments, at least one of them was in the final each time, and at least 2 were in the finals 8 of the 13 times: 2012 Aussie Open (Vika d maria) 2012 US Open (Serena d Vika) 2012 Indian Wells (Vika d Maria) 2012 Madrid (Serena d Vika) 2012 Beijing (Vika d Maria) 2012 Olympics (Serena d Maria) and 2012 Instanbul (Serena d Maria) and 2013 Miami (Serena d Maria)

And each woman has defended a title this year, and it's only May

These women have been putting on a clinic, and it may continue here!

@Patrick of La Verne OMG did you watch that doubles match? I could've pulled ALL my hair out. That was one of the craziest, weirdest matches I had ever seen in my life

I know Serena is a terrific server, but what is it about MK that Serena always seem to be so efficient on points when serving? Remember the aussie open match?

This match is a nice break away from a dirtballer for Serena, but she has another one in the QF

I don't like the homogenization of courts because it takes away from a players greatness because they're basically playing on the same court just a different city. Nadal winning on some very slow clay to winning on extremely fast hard court woud only add to his aura. But Federer sounds like he wants the variation for the same reason Nadal wants more clay courts.

I said this on the earlier thread, it's not WHAT Sloane said, it's that's she actually said it and is affected by it.

@Jigsawwill I was so uspet that she beat Serena Williams for a split sec, but her smile captivated me and I wanted her to win the whole thing. Now, I don't like her nor do I respect her. Just to add some strength to that last statement, I CAN'T STAND SHARAPOVA, but I do respect her and her accomplishments.
