Saban will remember this "gaffe". And he will punish TA&M for it. But please, don't get the imprssion that Nick is spending the rest of the summer preparing for them. There is an engagement in "The Dome" with Virginia Tech a couple of weeks prior to. THAT is who Nick will prepare for this summer.

I hate that rule! "Targeting" is subjective. If an offensive player goes low to try to get under a hit, and the contact is made prior to him getting where he's trying to get, a player is going to be unfairly ejected from a game. Defenses are being hampered from playing the game aggressively because too many "fans" don't understand the nuances of the game.

Protect the players, but don't take the aggression from the game.

"and whether a team is a conference champion.” So-o-o, when was that made a criteria? I was told that the "Selection Committee" would chose the #'s 1-4 teams in the country, and they would be the seeded teams. What if a team lost to a division opponent early (games 1-3), and won, convincingly, every other game; finished the season with the 3rd or 4th ranking in the country, would the "conference champion" who got into the conference title game, from the other division be considered more eligible because of one game, than the team that didn't play in the game because they didn't win their "division"? I doubt THAT...

Even more so, I wish that they would learn from it. Learn that the ugly stigma of racism is still just as alive now as it was 150 years ago. I hope that they learn that, to some people, their "history" is hat they aspire to. While we should not forget our history, wanting to LIVE our history again is going to make us "problem people".

And I could go YOU one better, and point out that those "Freedoms" were NOT being fought for, for ALL of the people. In fact, as a Nazi would, the confederates were fighting to maintain the indentured servitude of the poor black slaves that they were holding on to.

I, for one, think the comparison is more than adequate. It is appropriate!!!

You guys are a riot!

Delaney has really put Michigan on the spot. I am not just gloating because I am an Alabama fan. I am warning Delaney AND the rest of the coaches in Saban's field of view: As OldArmy put it: Don't poke the bear. Ask Les Miles what happens when you do. I can understand that many around the country feel slighted because of what happened last season. But when you reflect that, as Saban said, at one point, there was LSU, Arkansas, Alabama, 1-2-3. And Georgia was in the top 10 too, I believe. That was dominance. Not collaboration. To be the best, you must beat the best. If you lose to the best in an embarrasing fashion, then don't whine about who's the best. And it's about the best TWO teams in the country playing for the championship. How we arrive at who that is, is sometimes subjective. But you don't argue that grits ain't groceries just because you don't eat grits!!!

You would have to be as dumb as a car tire to believe that being a "conference champion" qualifies you for a legitimate shot at the national Championship. Seedings don't require that you 'win your conference'. Seedings, especially at the end of a 12 game season should be determined by youentire body of work. Not just WHO you beat, but also who beat you. Otherwise, why do we have rankings all year long? This dingbat will see in September why his ex-power conference cannot, and should not be engaing in the championship fray!!!
