Unless the actual credit card information is properly secured, the information on there is very unsafe especially on rooted phones. A lot of people root to install 3rd party apps that aren't available on the App store and I believe someone would be able to make an app that looks useful so that people would download it but would have the ability for the developer to take the information from that app depending on its permissions.
