The good thing about Westbrook is he keeps playing, a lot of older players do the same thing and are heroes(kobe, wade, pierce, etc). The media keeps proving that they know the kind of player Westbrook is but they keep getting surprised that he shoots. That is just the kind of player he is, and this year he shot the ball a lot better. So he struggled some in the playoffs, he is also responsible for a lot of wins in the playoffs. So ESPN please stop paying people to act like the world has come to an end after every game as it gets old fast. If Miami loses "oh this heat team doesn't stand a chance" if OKC loses "oh westbrook screwed up again" the problem from the start was a team effort obviously because no team is defeated by one player messing up. If the team works together to get stops on the defensive end they can get the win even without one of our big three scoring well. Game 1 Harden had a weak game and everyone else played hard after the first quarter so we won.
Also that last call was complete garbage not to mention a few others that were obviously bad calls or lack of. Two of Westbrooks shots he was fouled very clearly but no call was made so add those two in and his shooting percentage goes up to 44, I bet that would slide him away from the worst point guard in finals history that Magic gave him. Frankly his numbers should put him up with some of the best in finals history.

You can't blame one person for the loss because the team seemed to decide together to not play with any heart before the fourth. They need that lockdown defense for four quarters not one.
Westbrook was guarding by Wade and Durant was guarded by Lebron........so negative
He is just mad the Thunder spanked the lakers
The difference is Russ was good in both games while Wade wasn't that great in the first. The media just loves putting the blame on Westbrook for some reason. Sure we didn't play defense for the first three quarters but KILL WESTBROOK HE HAS FORSAKEN THE THUNDER!!!! So dumb, sometimes a team just has a player who is a good match and neutralizes a star. Ask kobe bryant about that(huh Thabo).
So......another 7ft guy who when wide open can catch and dunk........you would think these guys who are lucky to be 7ft tall would try to put together more of a game than simply catch under basket and dunk. Oh well I still hope Cole gets his shot, shows real promise when he actually plays and I can't believe Nazr has been getting the minutes Cole should've gotten. Well he's not in the finals(thank god)but still.

The problem with this series is a lot of times Russ attacks the basket and gets seriously clobbered but the refs seem to miss the call. I'm thinking psychologically this is keeping Russ from driving as much, I just wish they'd call it equally on both sides. If you want to call a foul for every little thing then do it equally and if you want them to actually play the game then call that equally as well.

The big problem is the Thunder are playing how they were before the playoffs. They relax throughout the entire game and turn on the defense for the final quarter. The only way they beat the spurs is they turned the defense on for entire games(minus the first half of game six). ESPN's goon crew is pathetic to throw this on Westbrook, yeah the guy is a scorer, yeah this team works differently on offense than other traditional teams but they have made it to the finals with this system. The main problem once again that these supposed experts are missing is the lack of defense. The Thunder would have broken a hundred easily if they clamped down defensively as that leads to the fastbreak points. So Stephen Smith and Skip Bayless please learn a little about the sport you are talking about. Please learn that if you are the Thunder and your opponent scores a hundred points then your problem is defense, this should be obvious.
Can we please bury the kobe days of "they have to score, score, score, score" The only thing that mattered in those times was how many points that idiot put up. Ignore his poor shooting but count the points.....good job. However when Westbrook shoots poorly(still better than bryant was) then he is the worst point guard ever in the finals(according to magic "can't keep it in his pants" johnson) which is a ridiculous statement. The Thunder simply need to put Durant on Wade and Thabo on Lebron. Just because the heat switch Lebron to Durant doesn't mean the Thunder need to do the same switch. So hopefully in game 3 the refs will put in their contact lenses and the Thunder will start the game with at least their offense or defense going. These games starting with 2 points in the first eight minutes or so are getting crazy and their defense doesn't start till the fourth when they shut the heat down. So just pick one for three quarters and then throw the other in for the fourth....at least, of course I'd prefer that they play hard on both ends of the floor for all four but hey that might be asking too much.
So between Russ, Kevin, Lebron, and Wade.....I gotta wonder.......is the NBA finals sponsored by lenscrafters or something?

L.A. fans have been saying they hate Harden since he got knocked in the head by artest. They said he was acting when he fell, tellin' ya the lakers could unload automatic weapons into their opponents and laker fans would say "yeah but did you see how the other team was looking at them?"

Just like in the series with the Spurs people are still saying the same things, "Durant needs to score at least this much" that is all they talk about and it's ridiculous. We beat the Spurs with defense, obviously when you are one of the top three in the league you are not having trouble getting your points but stopping the other team from getting theirs is the important factor in the series. So as long as the Thunder clamp down defensively the points will come and Miami will struggle, that is the important thing of the series not who will get how many points but who will lockdown their opponent.
Not counting them out of this series yet but clearly the Thunder need to develop Ibaka's offensive game to improve and had they developed Cole during the season instead of using Nazr they might have another offensive weapon off the bench.

A little surprised CP got chosen over Westbrook as Russ has been much more consisten this year than Paul. Also surprised the defensive player of the year wasn't on the first team for defense. Final surprise was that voters picked kobe(who couldn't stop Russ) over Thabo(who stopped kobe flat for all but one game, which is 7/8).

@FREE_COLEHaving lived in L.A. during their last two championships I know this is how they are. They are violently defensive of their basketball and even when they win they destroy their downtown area as celebration. When they lose they send death threats and people get violent about their sports around here. I mean the dodgers have had some serious incidents as well with out of town fans. So it's not pinning it's just that this is most likely the case of some angry visiting laker fans doing what they do. Trust me this is like half of laker fan reactions, I've witnessed out of towners getting insults hurled at them by children at laker games, such a pathetic city which is why I left.

People in L.A. are already saying Oklahoma is a violent place because of the shooting that happened and my response to them has been "clearly the people shooting are laker fans, I mean people are arguing and shooting breaks out clearly that is someone supporting the losing team, nobody celebrates a win by shooting at people.....at least none that I know of" Also after blake got death threats for missing a potential game winning shot clearly these are the violent fans, not OKC fans. Just a guess but I hope I'm right and this isn't how some OKC fans celebrate.
If the Celtics make it to the finals and we beat the Spurs it would be pretty interesting that we'd have beaten nothing but world champion teams all the way to the championship. Dallas last years, then Lakers before that, Spurs a five time championship team with the same championship players(at least stars), and the Celtics big three.....man would that be an accomplishment.
I remember vaguely when someone was playing the spurs and while parker was shooting free throws there were fans with a cut out of his wife in a bikini they were waving.....so I wonder why nobody has done that with kobe's ex wife.

OKC just has to turn it on full blast tonight and crush L.A. early, down 3-1 if we blitz them early they will start to lose that fire in their bellys.
12 months ago on Practice Report: OKC ready to send Lakers back to La-La Land
John Ireland calls KD the next kobe, I prefer to think of KD as the first Kevin Durant. I mean he's humble(not a tool like kobe/lebron/jordan), he's built like nobody else in terms of his long arms and how he runs the floor like a point guard, and he is actually good at closing(doesn't just have people say he is when he misses all his shots cough kobe). So if you want to hear interesting l.a. logic on the series the podcast is on espn.com....so funny.
12 months ago on KD ices the Lakers as OKC takes Game 4, 103-100
Sure they do, thing is they have to be involved the whole game I mean artest was the head guy for the kings, gasol for memphis, bynum could lead a team as well but they are always getting scraps falling from bryants mouth. The saddest part is how laker fans act like kobe is so great and say five rings all the time. A ring is a TEAM accomplishment, not like kobe told them "take a seat guys I got this" and just got all the rings. Man has one mvp and he stole that from chris paul, some fans make me sad with their logic.
