and not once did blake griffin describe the flight plate as supportive. he said it's extremely comfortable and that's due to how responsive it is. not how supportive it is.
1 year, 2 months ago on Kicks On Court Weekly Recap: Blake Griffin Talks Jordan Brand Perks & Flight Plate Technology
@darkboy1 no IDIOT the CARBON FIBER SHANK is for torsional rigidity!!! the carbon fiber shank IS NOT THE FLIGHT PLATE YOU MORON!
1 year, 2 months ago on Wear Test: Jordan CP3.VII Review
@darkboy1 how does this prove the flight plate is there for support?
You didn't even comprehend what they're saying in your own so called proof. But I'm the idiot?! Dude, you're a total idiot. When you learn how to comprehend basic English then get back to me.
THEY'RE TWO SEPARATE THINGS IDIOT!
the carbon fiber shank provides torsional rigidity. The flight plate ENHANCES RESPONSIVENESS!!
they DID NOT put zoom next to a carbon plate you moron! They put the zoom next to a PEBAX moderator plate which they dubbed FLIGHT PLATE! CASE CLOSED......
Just so you know this is NOT the PEBAX moderator plate aka the flight plate. This is the shank that has been present in every Jordan since the XI. The PEBAX moderator plate aka the flight plate is above this shank. I think you're letting the words flight plate written in the shank confuse you. But if you paid an ounce of attention to what all the designers said about the flight plate you'd know that it has NOTHING to do with the shank. IDIOT!
I never said anything about the tpu/cf shanks. I have no idea why you even brought that up because the shank has NOTHING... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the PEBAX moderator plate aka the FLIGHT PLATE!!
The shank serves the same purpose it always has prior to the flight plate. The flight plate does NOTHING to enhance the support of the shank!
Now I've provided you with countless proof that the flight plate has nothing to do with support. Whew is your proof that it does? I'll wait...IDIOT!
The flight plate is a PEBAX MODERATOR PLATE! that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the cf/tpu shank! THEY'RE TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF THE SHOE!
So until you can find me something that says they're the same thing then YOU'RE THE IDIOT... IDIOT!!!
Now this is where the innovator behind the technology talks about the support. Now I want you to tell me where the flight plate adds to support. I'll wait... Idiot.
Now I want you to tell me where in this description does it say that flight plate is there to enhance support... I'll wait... Idiot
Dude, the shank is not the flight plate you idiot! You can't even see the flight plate because it's INSIDE the shoe! The shank serves the same purpose it has since the XIs. To save the arches of your feet. The flight plate is what causes the ENHANCED RESPONSIVENESS of the zoom bag. NOT THE SHANK!!
The tpu shanks ARE NOT THE FLIGHT PLATE YOU MORON!
I just posted TWO paragraphs DIRECTLY from Nike.com describing the XX8 technology. In the paragraph about flight plate it says it was made to enhance responsiveness. The very next paragraph talks about the dynamic fit technology. THAT'S WHERE THE SUPPORT COMES IN YOU FLIPPING MORON!
Here's some more... Idiot. The very next paragraph is where they talk about support. Not because of the flight plate. Because of the DYNAMIC FIT.
Also featured in The AIR JORDAN XX8 is Dynamic Fit technology that uses internal straps to wrap up from the midsole and integrate with the laces for lightweight support that moves with the foot providing additional lockdown support and comfort.
So like I'm where in there does it mention support? But I'm the idiot? There's nothing in there that says they were aiming for a more supportive shoe. It says they were aiming for a more responsive shoe. Idiot.
This comes straight from the Nike website.... Idiot
The AIR JORDAN XX8 – the most tested and lightest AIR JORDAN ever – has an industry-changing first: the Jordan Flight Plate, a Pebax® moderator plate that maximizes the responsiveness of the Nike Zoom units through compression and deflection for optimal performance by essentially unlocking the airbags in the forefoot and heel, unleashing the power of the Zoom bags.
That doesn't even make sense. Every time they talk about flight plate in videos they talk about the responsiveness of it. Not the support. Try again.
How am I an idiot anyways? Find me ONE source that says the flight plate was made to enhance support then I'll stand corrected. Until then YOU and EVERYONE ELSE that thinks that the flight plate was made to enhance support are the idiots. I've read MULTIPLE reviews on the flight plate and not a single one of them, besides this one, mentions flight plate and support in the same sentence. Instead they say how RESPONSIVE the flight plate is.
The flight plate was ONLY made to enhance the zoom. Zoom was made to increase RESPONSIVENESS not support! So, if the flight plate was made to enhance zoom, and zoom was made to enhance responsiveness, then how in the world would anyone at nice kicks think that the flight plate was made to enhance support?! That's just down right dumb to me.
You can scour the internet until your eyes bleed and this will be the ONLY website that correlates the flight plate with support. And until you find me a different source that says the flight plate was made to enhance support then I'm not the idiot.
So are you.
Doubt that. And the X's are my favorite Jordan's of all time.

Well DUH! they're a GRADE SCHOOL release ONLY genius!
One last thing on fight plate. When I put on my night vision XX8s (as seen in my avatar) and feel that zoom bouncing underneath the balls of my feet not once did that make me say boy are these very supportive. Instead I think to myself how comfortable they are and how responsive they'd be to hoop in.
When people describe the XX8 they say most comfortable Jordan ever. Not the most supportive. Although when they're zipped up they do feel like ankle braces if you like that feel in your hoop shoes.
With all that out the way I think these are the best looking CP3s ever.
Zoom was never made for support. Flight plate was made to enhance zoom. So how in the world does that translate to support all of a sudden?
Per Jordan Brand innovator Rob Bruce:
"The problem is we make shoes where we embed the Zoom and it loses all of that energy and responsiveness by being encapsulated in foam, cemented, etc. I looked at that and said, “We can do better than that.”
So can this please be the last time I see someone from this site mention support when talking about the flight plate?
The flight plate is all about responsiveness. It has nothing to do with support. That's like saying zoom is for support. Zoom was made for responsiveness. The flight plate is nothing but a way to release the full responsiveness of zoom. Since zoom has nothing to do with support then why would the flight plate have something to do with support when they're essentially the same thing just in a different housing?
This is the second time I've seen one of your writers say that flight plate is for support. But when you look at the description of flight plate on Nike.com they don't say anything about support as being a benefactor of the flight plate.
Why mention the flight plate in the support section when the flight plate has nothing to do with support? Flight plate should have been brought up in the same section where you mentioned the zoom bag under the ball of your foot. The flight plate was never described as being supportive. It was described as extremely responsive. Like zoom times ten.
How about trying to visit the website that made them Nimrod?! I swear some of you sneaker heads are pretty stupid.

You could try going to the website that customized them for starters. I mean where else do you think you would be able to find them? Learn how to use your brain a little bit. No, learn how to use your brain a lot of bit.

@Komplete18 i'm liking both the melos and cp3s this year. both of them really look good. might say best of both of their lines. although the melo v.5 was pretty dope. and i saw a pair of the last cp3s at the mall the other day that were cold. olive green and red. i wanted to cop them so bad but couldn't.
