@ModGuy @hypodermic harnesses aren't as safe for the road as people seem to think, in a frontal collision with a lap sash belt your momentum causes you to "roll" around the shoulder strap and slowly disperses the forces involved in doing so. When fitting different harnesses this changes, with a 4 point you will tend to "submarine" under the harness, not good, and with a 5 point all the body's momentum is transferred to the neck which is even worse and the reason that the Hans device was invented

Maybe, a few things I could think of are that could cause issues would be that the tunnel may have been opened too far for the transmission, but probably more difficult to confirm would be the chassis origin and whether it is eligible to run in rwd anyway. I think FormulaD requires the base car to be a production chassis/minimum homologated number not a specific motorsport base. On the rwd thing, to compare it to the Tc of Aasbo, the chassis is shared with an awd car so is eligible for a rwd conversion, like the odd Honda element that was around for a bit. I'm not aware of any factory awd focus' or whether the chassis is shared with an awd car to become eligible in the first place.

@speedhunters_dino @777 also, the tin foil hat part of me thinks that no matter how well utsumi drove against suenaga, barring the obvious glaring error, and then kawabata, suenaga was going through to meet kawabata, and when he didn't the round was pretty much decided. "Because what better way to finish off the season than for the top driver to win the last round / two to go head to head for the championship"
Not sure how kawabata won the round, apparently not offering a chase run is seen as less of a deduction than a small error whilst close, see for yourselves

@JDMized @777 the weights shouldn't be that different really especially this year as there were minimum weights brought in for each vehicle (Nemo effect).
I get that there are more and longer straights on EC, but that "should" help Suzuki as his car would be faster on those than the others, it has more power and one would hope less drag because it certainly doesn't have the downforce levels of the EVOs.
As I elluded to earlier, it is cool that it has the record and all, but, if no one else is trying for it, it's not such a big deal.
Wouldn't put a forty-something second lap past Tilton or Nemo, Suzuki's tsukuba sector times have apparently all been faster now than when he did his 52.x and he was 3 seconds off the pace here
@JDMized also just a thought, is anyone else really pushing for the outright tsukuba lap record aside from Suzuki? It is a track that largely favours awd cars, unlike eastern creek where the advantage isn't as great and a well balanced 2wd is just as potent.
It may be that the scorch s15 is just a one trick pony
@Mean 15 I would say, confidently so, that the Tilton car would have had more money spent on it than Nemo. I don't get the Nemo hate really, It complied with every rule when it was initially built, and complies with the new rules that were changed because they had gaping loopholes in them to start off with.2 tenths, if Nemo's proper engine hadn't committed harakiri during testing and was actually used last year, they would still be chasing two seconds
@Simply P most people buy bunny kits to park hard, and the average drifter outside of japan doesn't buy genuine anyway
