Hey Mikey, what was the reasoning behind moving to a 1.5way from the spool? Looking for more tunability/chasing grip?

@ModGuy @hypodermic harnesses aren't as safe for the road as people seem to think, in a frontal collision with a lap sash belt your momentum causes you to "roll" around the shoulder strap and slowly disperses the forces involved in doing so. When fitting different harnesses this changes, with a 4 point you will tend to "submarine" under the harness, not good, and with a 5 point all the body's momentum is transferred to the neck which is even worse and the reason that the Hans device was invented

Maybe, a few things I could think of are that could cause issues would be that the tunnel may have been opened too far for the transmission, but probably more difficult to confirm would be the chassis origin and whether it is eligible to run in rwd anyway. I think FormulaD requires the base car to be a production chassis/minimum homologated number not a specific motorsport base. On the rwd thing, to compare it to the Tc of Aasbo, the chassis is shared with an awd car so is eligible for a rwd conversion, like the odd Honda element that was around for a bit. I'm not aware of any factory awd focus' or whether the chassis is shared with an awd car to become eligible in the first place.

I much preferred the D/L/K S15 when it was green and ran one of haraguchi's 326 kits. I think all that has changed on it is a new kit and different body colour, but the accents are the same

@jay8393 @Aldarris correct, amandio was driving saito's old D1GP jzx100 chaser, not sure if it may have also been involved in the fire, and two other Indonesian drivers use his altezza and his old school d1/demo/drift muscle jzx100 fronted jzx90

@speedhunters_dino @apex_DNA @stylez nz MSC is probably still the best competition in Japan as far as talent and coolness meshing, plus it is the only drift comp with regular team drift

@Simply P because despite being the much better engine, it takes a little more effort initially to get power out of it and this will probably only ever be a show car so more jdm tyte fans will talk about a 2j than a 2a

@speedhunters_dino @777 also, the tin foil hat part of me thinks that no matter how well utsumi drove against suenaga, barring the obvious glaring error, and then kawabata, suenaga was going through to meet kawabata, and when he didn't the round was pretty much decided. "Because what better way to finish off the season than for the top driver to win the last round / two to go head to head for the championship"
Not sure how kawabata won the round, apparently not offering a chase run is seen as less of a deduction than a small error whilst close, see for yourselves
And good photo of kawabata completely straight behind amandio, it's nice to know d1 is still as corrupt as ever, as it looks to be the exact same thing that utsumi lost for
Lol "kaido racer spoiler," group c wing, very popular and much more well known though I suppose it's just not jdm enough

9 months, 1 week ago on The Dust Settles At WTAC:
Tilton Reigns Supreme
@JDMized @777 the weights shouldn't be that different really especially this year as there were minimum weights brought in for each vehicle (Nemo effect).
I get that there are more and longer straights on EC, but that "should" help Suzuki as his car would be faster on those than the others, it has more power and one would hope less drag because it certainly doesn't have the downforce levels of the EVOs.
As I elluded to earlier, it is cool that it has the record and all, but, if no one else is trying for it, it's not such a big deal.
Wouldn't put a forty-something second lap past Tilton or Nemo, Suzuki's tsukuba sector times have apparently all been faster now than when he did his 52.x and he was 3 seconds off the pace here
@JDMized also just a thought, is anyone else really pushing for the outright tsukuba lap record aside from Suzuki? It is a track that largely favours awd cars, unlike eastern creek where the advantage isn't as great and a well balanced 2wd is just as potent.
It may be that the scorch s15 is just a one trick pony
@Mean 15 I would say, confidently so, that the Tilton car would have had more money spent on it than Nemo. I don't get the Nemo hate really, It complied with every rule when it was initially built, and complies with the new rules that were changed because they had gaping loopholes in them to start off with.2 tenths, if Nemo's proper engine hadn't committed harakiri during testing and was actually used last year, they would still be chasing two seconds
@Simply P most people buy bunny kits to park hard, and the average drifter outside of japan doesn't buy genuine anyway
9 months, 1 week ago on Generation Next:
The Rocket Bunny x MadMike FD3S
2 tenths isn't decimating a record, and it should be fast with the $80k dropped on the new kit alone
Now you can look just the same as every other rocket bunny cars.
LONG LIVE THE BN SPORTS
@Hotcakes Much to the dismay or the regular speedhunters reader, Suzuki wouldn't
be able to touch Tilton or Nemo, and on results may even struggle with
the MCA Hammerhead, a vastly less developed car.

Good to see that you're covering WTAC again, will be nice to see the battle for second place after NEMO rewrites the books again.
Even in testing at QR it's going faster than it was at SMSP, and that's with 300m less road to do it on.

Not as impressed with NEMO as with Suzuki's S15? Not an EVO? If NEMO had say, been gradually built up like the S15 would you feel the same way? If it had come out of Japan, maybe even from a large tuner, would your opinion change on it?

the difficulty of the renesis was just people not working hard enough on developing the engine because of their familiarity with the older rotors. Mazdatrix are probably one of the very few tuner shops that are actually pursuing the newer engine with some really exceptional results.

I believe NEMO Racing do have pikes peak in there sights, could be as early as next year depending on what they get up to this season with the new stuff they are having to do to the car to remain wtac legal.

Apparently the Toyota's can actually stay out a lap or two longer than the Audi's at race pace, meaning although they are measurably slower they won't lose as much time in the pits. While I still think Audi are likely to win, I think it may be closer than people anticipate.

BMW engine would be bigger than an LS based engine, people don't quite realise just how small they actually are.
No doubt it makes a lot of torque, but I think the 930nm figure may be a little misleading, I would have a guess and say that is the "tractive effort" or the amount of torque to the wheels, not an accurate figure of what the engine actually is actually making. A more accurate figure would be the derived torque, although this generally takes a bit of time to work out and pretty much always comes to a much lower figure, so most dyno operators don't use it.

I have an undying love for neat wiring, to me it is what separates a good build from a great one. You can lose hours in it and it is rarely seen, but good, neat, and functional wiring is a thing of beauty. Top stuff Keith.
