I cms attest to how awesome Yodobashi is, blew my mind when I went in there and funnily enough, that pink kenmeri is exactly what I bought, along with some mk1's, mega wide hoshino impuls, yayoi's and a set of boso takeyari. And even though I had no interest in them, I grabbed a gundam, as there was just nothing that said Japan quite like it. The camera equipment made me weak at the knees, and I had to leave before I did to much damage to my wallet.

That would be why, generally they would clear at lock whilst static, but when actually drifting and under compression it would touch and the tire would tear the guard apart because of the way its spinning

Well then, you learn something new everyday, thanks for the correction and bit of knowledge. My info is a bit off the cuff, I know my engine builder despises the jz engines, but it may be for other characteristics that they may have.

@mrmike0c apart from the 110's came with a 1jz anyway, the 1jz head is said to be a better head than the 2jz, more flow and a better port design. something people don't seem to know is the 2jz head isn't actually very good for making power, it's only saving grace is it can hold big boost.

TE37 gravel spec, the best looking TE there ever was. 14x7 -0, best.

I really enjoyed this article, I think it should help people see that the big guys in the sport started in much the same place as many of the rookies and privateers currently competing. Sure the levels of competition and car development are just a little different than back in 2004, but the recipe for success really hasn't changed.

Just one think, Dai's car is powered by a 477cui RHS race engine, its based off of LSx architecture but its a long way from an LS7

might work into any vortices created by the side mirrors and along the side of the roofline, probably just tidies it up and directs it under the wing. That or its just a funky design element but I somewhat doubt that.

But they're not Yokohama's! In all seriousness, that's a pretty neat street/tracker

@torino_san generally yes, but i think it is more prevalent with wrinkle wall drag slicks, im not sure it would be as much of an issue with the quite stiffly walled nascar tires

honestly if i had the funds, i would have a veyron, even though it is not what you would call a drivers car, for me it just is the first real hypercar, and if i was really so unfortunate to be tossing up between multi squillion dollar cars, i would have race car, no question, and it would either be an n2 ae86, or a v8 supercar, they just do it for me

ill step in cor Alex here even though I don't think he needs people fighting for him on the internet, I imagine that the same people that are slagging of his civic would be the same people that would probably mess themselves over things being jdm tight, imagine if you will, that Alex's civic had a few jdm yo sticker and was intact from some obscure Japanese workshop and was infact a kanjo racer from years back, I feel those same people would be talking about how awesome it is and about how function is so much more important than form and the likes, for the simple differencethat it was built by a Japanese guy and clearly they do everything better, so drop it, Alex is one of the few people on this site that looks past the facade of hype propagated on this blog and many times, more often than not his opinion hits the mark

the wing was designed by a frenchy some time ago and is now used because it is actually more effective than a wing with central wing stays, when tripple 8 made the switch from ford to Holden they discovered some deficiencies with the wing of the Holden, hence they now use the Ludo Lacroix  designed wing throughout the field, as well as a determined height gurney flap for aerodynamic parity

And though these Nagano Koubou cars have been e-famous for some time now, and you regularly here about them drifting and being functional, yet I have only seen a single picture of any of their cars doing anything other than parking rather hard, and that was by the green silvia that I am lead to believe is a customer car. Happy to be proven wrong but I'm not so sure these drift as much as you seem to mention that they do

"S15 Autech SR20DE engine swap, stainless steel exhaust manifold, Nagano Koubou one-off takeyari twin exit exhaust system, Nagano Koubou one-off intake pipe, HPI air filter, Yashio Factory twin core radiator, BNR32 in-tank fuel pump"

Ok dino, sorry to burst your jdm tyte bubble, firstly, it is an s13 n/a engine, not an autech, no cam hump,no vct, can't see the exhaust so can't comment, but a NK one off intake pipe? Please, its just an s13 sr20de'T' intake manifold, with a stock intake pipe with a cheap filter slapped on the end of it, and lastly though I can't be certain, not sure why you would need to upgrade your fuel pump for a standard engine.

Oh and dekatora mirror, now I've heard it all

@BradLord @Jezza k not sure if it would still be the case, but last week in Tasmania the erebus cars had to idle considerably higher than the rest of the field I believe due to some problems with their plenum and throttle choices, they were idling at a little over 3000 in tassie as opposed to around 1600, couple that with the fact that single plane cranked cars sound awful at idle and it they sound rather unhealthy at anything other than full noise. The problems they are having should be rectified when they switch to an individual throttle setup in the search of more power (and that v8sc backflipped on the merc dbw allocation)
