@MisterJohnsonOKC @cjones191 So the dude is absolutely money for 3 rounds in the playoffs, but in his first finals appearance at the age of 22 he has a bad series, and you want to "dump" him off with Ibaka?
2 years, 5 months ago on What now for the Thunder?
@MisterJohnsonOKC The Heat weren't given the series. They took it. Plain and simple. Their stars showed up, and their role players came up huge. Sadly, ours didn't. Harden was a ghost and Fisher made some spectacularly bad, run-crushing plays.
@MisterJohnsonOKC Look at the free throw numbers for games 2 and 3. If we shoot our normal ft percentage for those two games, we win. How is that the ref's fault?
@MisterJohnsonOKC I admit we were on the wrong end of some questionable calls, but at the end of the day, we had a favorable chance of winning games 2,3, and 4, and we didn't execute. The refs don't deserve any blame for that.
@Lost Ones I think some of that has to do with the disappearance of everyone on his team not named Westrbrook, plus it was his first Finals appearance blah blah. His scoring was still there, but his rebounding was way way down. For the kind of Finals experience he had given his age, I'm very optimistic for the years to come.
@ThunderChick2010 @Legendary_dork Those are unfair comparisons in my opinion. The majority of those players hadn't played 5 full NBA seasons by the time they were 23 -_-

Does anyone have ESPN insider? I'm just wondering who this "adversary" is that David Thorpe sees that could dethrone the king >.>

God I hate Israel Gutierrez
I wish he'd replace "hopefully" with "will"
Interested to see how they respond...
@GrantGates This is what the optimist in me thinks. The pessimist in methinks that it's something Miami is doing to throw them off their game. It's probably somewhere in between.
2 years, 5 months ago on Thunder crumble in the second half, 91-85
@KoolKeith3000 I don't think I'll be able to even watch ESPN for weeks if the Heat end up taking this series. The Lebron garbage is so sickening. He drilled so many shots in Lebron's eye, but because of ticky tack officiating, he plays less minutes and the entire offense was in a funk by the time the 4th quarter started.
@KoolKeith3000 @OBoymuzik "
Do you sit Durant with four fouls and 18 minutes left in the game? And, if you do, do you also sit your other premier-shot creator because, as Brooks stated after the game, Westbrook endured a tough couple of possessions and needed a blow to calm him down?
There are a few ways to approach the first question. Presumably, the decision to sit Durant for nearly six minutes is to ensure that he doesn't pick up his fifth foul, in which case he'd have ... to sit.
This logic is completely tautological. The Thunder absorb 10-12 possessions without their best player because they run the risk of possibly having to absorb, say, 10-12 possessions without their best player should he pick up a fifth foul. (We can litigate whether it even makes sense to keep Durant off the floor with five, but Brooks answered that question in the negative during Game 2, didn't he?)"
- Kevin Arnovitz on ESPN.
@YoniFromIsrael I hope you're right. My panic meter right now is about 8/10.
@Mr_F It's stupid. With our lineup, out of Harden, Durant, and Westbrook, there should ALWAYS be at least 2 out of those 3 in the lineup. Otherwise our offense stagnates since it's so ridiculously easy to defend against. I still don't understand the logic in taking Russ out. He missed a layup and got called for a charge, so Brooks takes him out for the rest of the quarter? Inexcusable. Either leave him anyway, or call a timeout and talk it over.
@S4TISF4CTION @ChilamBilam12 You don't need to bench a player cuz they need to "chill", call a timeout and talk it over.
@ChilamBilam12 Bottom line is...even with the bad officiating, we still win this game if we hit our free throws. I think people are placing too much blame on the refs for this loss honestly.
@bmuelle21 Lol why?

Rw = Steve Francis apparently
@dachoppera I wanna say the only two teams to get all 3 at home were the 06 Heat and the 04 Pistons.
2 years, 5 months ago on Russell Westbrook: Mindset
@ElMexiThunder Yeah, that's not really what I was looking for. I don't wanna see 9 new topics of the day complaining about Russ, etc.
Do any of you guys post on an actual Thunder message board? I like DT, but I feel sometimes good topics get squashed and it's sometimes hard to keep track of topics.
@bmuelle21 BUT HE TAKES MORE SHOTS THAN DURANT!1!!!11!
@MostJadedGamer @Lost Ones I agree we're more talented. But Scott Brooks insists on playing a less talented lineup (Perkins) against a more talented Heat lineup for almost the entire 1st quarter. It has less to do with RW and more to do with Brooks than you think.
@MostJadedGamer Heat troll in disguise?
@MostJadedGamer @OBoymuzik These slow starts have more to do with Brooks' starting lineup and less to do with the play of Russ. How do you not realize that?
@Crow I can't wait til he learns the spin on his drive to the basket. I saw Parker burn us with that a couple of times in the WCF, and thought to myself, I can't wait til Russ learns that. Gonna be sick.
@MostJadedGamer Can I flag this as stupid?
@Lost Ones LOL. I'm dying over here.
2 years, 5 months ago on Saturday Morning Cartoons: Coming to America?
@AllDae I'd say good. I think criticism fuels him honestly.
@ElMexiThunder This was the series that made me fall in love with this team.
@FSUThunderFan Yeah I saw something similar on ESPN. Pretty comforting. Plus I think it's easier for OKC to win at Miami, then it is for Miami to win in OKC. I feel we have a much stronger home crowd, plus I think we're more battle tested in playing away from home than the Heat are.
There was a graphic on ESPN earlier. I think it was in the history of the 2-3-2 format of the NBA finals, out of all away teams who split the first two games away from home, only 4 teams went on to win the NBA finals.
I found that comforting. ^_^
2 years, 5 months ago on 3-on-3: Quick change?
All I know is this. The Thunder probably played the 2nd worst game of their entire playoff run (I'd say the worst WCF Game #2) and it still takes the following for us only to lose by 4:
-Kd playing in foul trouble for the entire game.
-Shane Battier hitting a miracle, 50 foot, off the glass 3.
-Getting outscored 18-2 at the start, and down by 17 in the 3rd.
-A botched goaltending call in the 2nd.
-Miami's Big 3 playing at pretty much their ceiling.
-Going 18/25 from the charity stripe.
-Two obvious no calls on Lebron at the end of the game on Durant and Westbrook.
And we still only lost by 4! (Virtually, 2, but whatever)
I firmly believe if any of those factors had been slightly different, we would have come out on top. Cheer up ya'll. It's not like Miami is even that hard to play in anyway.
@TempBoy Brandon And i guess that's assuming none of the 3 would be in at the same time, which we all know won't happen :/
@TempBoy Brandon Yeah...I thought Ibaka played better last night than in Game 1 actually. He had some pretty good blocks. But he was consistently leaving Battier on the wing. In a perfect world Collison/Ibaka should be the only ones splitting minutes. Probably the best we can hope for is Collison getting around 24, Ibaka 14, and perkins 10.
@ElMexiThunder Words can't describe how hammered I would get if we lost games 3 and 4, and came back to win 5, 6, and 7.
I think it's pretty clear Brooks won't change anything. But he definitely needs to start subbing in Harden and Collison faster. Not when we're already down by double digits. Harden for Perkins, then Collison for Ibaka. I know he doesn't want to 'mess up' team chemistry, but these first quarter debacles are becoming more and more common.
