@Planet of the Deaf You were able to view it at Leicester Square - I had an envy moment reading that ;)
1 week, 1 day ago on Is Capaldi’s Accent Causing Issues?
Total rubbish article, this Canadian has no problems at all with his accent.
The Guardian was going for a ClickBait headline too as most of the article did not discuss Americans lack of aural comprehension. Disappointing tacky journalism.
@Liana21 Definitely Jubiliee. Holy Terror is also good, especially if you can cope with the idea of his companion being a shape shifter who is currently in the guise of a Penguin... Re-reading this I feel I have made it sound silly, but the sorry is definitely both thought provoking, gripping and has its moment of disquiet. And - it is only 2.99. A total steal!
1 week, 1 day ago on The Worlds of Doctor Who Review
@12th's Sonic (I'm Listening!) Yes. The first 50 in the main range are only 2.99 each. Check back on some of Gustaff's articles for an idea of which to get first. (His recommendations are invariably spot on!)
Oh interesting review. I must confess I had not been tempted to buy The Worlds until I read the article.
@Liana21 Also, just for the rest of this month, a Colin Baker audio The Juggernaut is avaialable for 2.99 (download price only) as a special offer. Then it goes up to 12.99 again.
Thanks Liam, I really reading enjoyed this article, thanks for sharing with us. (PS for any Big Finish fans there is a season of Robin of Sherwood audios, a tenner for the season, or a fiver per. Have to admit I got them for Armitage....)

That nine hour video of River, absolutely wonderful. It doesn't include the minisodes, but it is just wonderful to see the episodes of River in order, from Amy's pregnancy onwards. Fabulous stuff, and I really enjoyed it. I do so hope we see a glimpse of her with Capaldi, as she said the Doctors keep popping up in the wrong order...

I would go, if it was not during our family holiday. (Two of us are keen, but it would mean driving 4 hours there and 4 hours back again.... )

@Possible Girl Loads of theaters in the US are showing this! I know as I checked since I will be down south on holiday at the time.
@MrRazza, the Newly Qualified Omega Identifier They have a special offer on at the moment to celebrate their 15 years. They had the Siren's of Time on for a GBP1.00. Today it might be something different.

Wonderful, some more to keep an eye out for. So pleased with the recommendation of the Pirates. Once I got my head around it I truly loved it! But reviews I read where a bit dismissive.
okay, rewatched it. Bits still make my toes curl with embarrassment, but the scene with Matt and the baby is exquisite.

Can I thank DoctorWhoTv for their excellent spoiler policy. With less than two months to go until the new season this is now my only source of Who info on the Net. Cheers!!

Delighted to see some great writers there. Wish we could get another Paul Cornell. Also wish we could someone who was female. (If they can do that in American sci fi series not sure why it is a problem in UK series?)

Can you imagine how awesome it would be to introduce someone to Doctor Who using the 50th Anniversary special? I have successfully used Blink and 11th Hour before. I would never think of the Human Nature/Family of Blood. Not sure about that one (although, one of my all time favourites).

I do love Sundays for Weird and Wonderful - this week is a bumper crop!!
50 Years in the TARDIS is one of the best fan trailers - a nice mix of new and classic Who; and the art at the top - incredible, I think I'll have to buy some of her cards...!!

@supermoff Radio Free Skaro podcast mentioned that he is a student in art college in Vancouver, Canada. I agree that the Beeb should be contacting him!!
Damn fine article, and fast, and well thought out. BRAVO
Whilst I do think the show could do with more input from the other gender, that test does not work with seasons 5 onwards since Amy is often talking with the only other female around who turns out to be River having run with the fact that she knows who she is in the Doctor's timeline and in the confines of a 45 minute story they will be driving the story forward (RTD is a tad more character driven than Moffatt).

Superb article. Yes, they are both about one man but Light has a lot of companions, Leelah, Peri, Nyssa, Ace and Charley. Plus William Russell (Ian) and Frazer Hines (Jamie) as both themselves and their Doctors (which bizarrely is not mentioned on the listings. It was sublime Audio. We were truly spoiled last year. I do hope we get something rather good again next year (for the 10th anniversary of New Who).
3 months, 4 weeks ago on The Day of the Doctor vs The Light at the End
@Doctor What and Where Big Finish cannot do New Who doctors unfortunately, so they could not have any references to Doctors 9-11.
Mind you Light has the best section of dialogue ever with Ace's glorious roundup of Doctors 1-8 “So are you seriously telling me all those blokes, old man white hair, Beatles haircut, frilly shirt, long scarf big eyes, cricket boy, Joseph and his amazing technicolor dreamcoat, and Lord Byron, all of them—they were you?”
@Night at the Whovies Definitely River's. Awesome art.

Interesting article, thanks for sharing with us.
This episode, which is patchy (as you note) also suffered from having followed one of the best episodes from new Who, namely Day of the Doctor.

Great article Holly. Totally agree. He is a busy chap though, but it would be great if we could have more Cornell stories. BTW: there are two Paul Cornell stories on Big Finish that are only 2.99 (one is the 7th Doctor and one is the 8th). I've just finished listening to The Shadow of the Scourge. That was not so great and, not surprisingly, was a bit on the dark side, but had some great moments mind you. However, the 8th Doctor's Seasons of Fear is rather wonderful.

4 months, 1 week ago on Is it Time to Give Big Finish the New Who Licence?
@Gustaff @Castrovalva It was The Mahogany Murderers. It was one of the big finish monthly "The Listener" audios. The interplay between the two characters was just so superb. It was quite incredible to realise the two actors had not played those characters for nearly 30 years. Witty dialogue, gentle comedy, and the plot was also quite intriguing.
4 months, 1 week ago on Beyond the TV Series: Jago & Litefoot
What a truly enjoyable read. I recently downloaded a Jago and Lightfoot audio. I did not have high expectations but it was such a fun audio experience.
Amongst my favourite episodes (going by my re-watch count) are the Sontaran Strategem and The Poison Sky . The other two parter would have worked without the pig men and the bizarre hybrid. Somehow I feel something got lost in translation there.
On the whole I would really like to see more from this writer.
4 months, 2 weeks ago on Bring Back… Helen Raynor
@ilyootha @MrThorfan64 I wouldn't think there would be a problem with the two having a licence - they already (BBC and Big Finish) cross discuss so there is not a great overlap on stories.
4 months, 2 weeks ago on Is it Time to Give Big Finish the New Who Licence?
It would be marvellous! Tennant would be up for it I am sure, he has done some Big Finish before he was the Doctor. It would be tricky getting the others (Matt and Karen are in the States). It would be cool for Eccleston too, wonder if he would be up for it. Mind you, if they can get Tom Baker involved they can get anyone!!
Anyone wanting to check out Big Finish, the first 50 of their main range audio dramas are available for 2.99 (and there is an excellent review site called TimeScales if you want some idea of which are the best). Don't overlook the excellent articles Gustaff has contributed to this forum recommending various Big Finish audios.
