Well, then it comes down to including a lady panda and everyone shouts, "But it -has- to be Chen!"
Because most of their notable, recognizable protagonists in most of their stories are men. So it isn't really a trailer issue so much anymore. It was deliberate, I assumed that much, but deliberately putting in dudes and centering around men fighting had a purpose but it illuminates a much larger narrative problem.
I would argue that gender shouldn't be a necessary addition to an About page, mostly because you can refer to someone using gender-neutral language, such as "they" ("it" is really dehumanizing, fyi) or more forward "ze" "zir" gender neutral pronouns.
I honestly just don't think that it is that relevant to blogging unless it's a topic that specifically deals with gender.
