@Gianni74 Hopefully this is the plan.  Zuke has to stay a Ranger!

How does this work? It is just a 1yr deal right?  Will he still be an RFA afterward?

He will be once he is UFA. Lock him up now!

As you predicted - not happy about Boyle. Wonder if he was disappointed that Moore got the nod over him when someone had to fill in on the higher lines. Boyle is a beast in his role but would be very surprised to see him successful in a line with scoring expectations. For the money, I'd have like to see him stay.

Brad Richards may have been overpaid but I don't see that as being his fault. Should he have said no to the offer? He was highly sought after that off season. I seem to remember that he left some money on the table to come to us.

His actions after Sandy showed what an amazing person he is. He won me over off the ice during that locked out time. I was at the game in AC and it was awesome. Only game I could afford to take the family to. Class act for sure.

On the ice he did some great things that we will always remember. He also did some not so great things. I'm sure he will be a usful piece somewhere but his best is clearly behind him. He also does not fit on this Rangers team that is made for speed.

I kind of feel like I did that off season when we had just gotten Gretzky and Messier left (though Mess had more left in the tank). I liked season StLuis and Richards together again but it is just not to be.

Good luck BR!

Imagine that playoffs with Dubinsky and Anisimov instead of Nash. Amazing how perspective can shift in a few years.

@ATCRyan The problem with that is the two are out of sync.  I used to pause the TV and try to get it to line up with the radio but it is a pain.  Now I just suffer through the NBC broadcast.

@GetTheKingACup Would be a great story.  I'd love to see it go 7 for sure.  Would be wild to have 4 games 7s for LA and 3 games 7s for us.  I definitely want to see more than 1 more game of hockey!

That was just sad. Those refs better not be getting any more games. Pathetic. Ranger have to beat the Kings and the refs. That said, a true champion can do just that. Kings are good but I'm not in any kind of awe when watching them. Figures Gabby had to tie it up. At least Brash got one earlier to even out the production from the trade. Also, did not hear much about Kreider getting his back skate slashed out from under him on the break away. Reminded me of the Price collision.

Oh well, have to do it at home. Still time to turn it around but man did those two OT losses hurt. Especially this one where the game was handed to the Kings.

If that at is the case then he should retire. He has enough money I would think. No need to spend it all on hiring someone to clean up his drool.

@McPhee37 So you are putting yourself out on a limb and agreeing with the media and "experts."  I think there is a lot more to this than size.  The Rangers did not loose the game because they were not physical enough.  They lost because they were outplayed for the second half of the game.  Everyone here should disagree with your assertion that the Rangers have no chance.  That is why we are fans (e.g. fanatic...).  No reality should go into the equation when your team is in the mix.  You support your team.  An analyst on the other hand needs to be objective.  While I appreciate your analysis, I'm sticking with my fanatic loyalty to the Rangers but will keep my account on the blog regardless how it turns out thank you very much.  I hope you do as well.

@McPhee37 I get that you want a more physical team but this team has been fun to watch and has a chance to win it all and is the team that we have.  Much more than we expected at the beginning of the season. Does not take a genius to see that we are the underdogs but you still have to play the games.  When you were playing did you see a team that was better on paper and give up  before the game started?  Based on what I've read from you I strongly doubt it.  Why do less as a fan?  I understand betting with your head but as a fan I never bet against my team.  I may not bet for them but to bet against them is weak.  When watching the Rangers in the Stanley cup finals for the first time in 20 years are you really going to be rooting for the Kings (even in the back of your mind) because of money?  Seems kind of sad to me.

@bk59 He was a Ranger killer even when he was on the rangers...  :)  Kidding of course. If he had not been traded last year he still would be on the Kings at the deadline due to UFA status so all is good.  No complaints about what we got for him.  He will be extra motivated but at least Torts is gone or he would be even more motivated!

@KevinTheNYRBlog It was a cheap shot and he should pay but there is no doubt that he set the tone for the game.  Got the Rangers focused on him and not the game there for a while and now we have lost car bomb for the duration.  All of a sudden we are not so deep...  Hopefully the price for Prust will be high but I would bet that he would do it again even if suspended for the win last night.  Sad thing, as people have said, is that if the refs make the right call then things don't boil over.  That said, have to suck it up and not lose composure like that.

Really want to see Prust out for the series at a minimum.  He has a history of being suspended in the playoffs.  Of course this time he is not a Ranger so I'm not holding my breath...  Too ironic that the guy that bragged about "accidentally on purpose" is the one to do this.  He should get 5 games just for being a big mouth hypocrite.

Also think that we will see Step on Sun.  Suddenly very glad we have 2 days off again.

@Say my Name  Not to feed into this discussion again but since it is a Kreider thread I guess it is ok...  I would argue that if his leg is not hit then there is much less chance of an injury to Price.  There may have been contact but loosing his back leg when skating means he goes down and the collision is much worst than it would have been he was still on his feet and could try to avoid (or control) the contact.  After the slash he did an amazing job of keeping balanced on one leg for a few more seconds and focused on getting the shot off.  While he could have abandoned the scoring chance to focus on minimizing the collision that would have been weak.  Again, bottom line after the play got messed up by the slash, he chose to pursue the scoring chance while falling and we would not have it any other way!

Love the stones on this kid.  Says a lot about him that he has handled the media circus and hostile Montreal crowd with so much poise, snark and execution.  The Rangers are clearly a different team with Kreids in the line up and agree that the impact on Nash in particular is huge.  Montreal will be coming hard again tomorrow.  Can't wait!

@EquusBiz  A good coach would look for what went wrong and take steps to fix it.  He is saying that they did not do anything wrong so there is nothing to fix other than the refs and getting some luck.  Perhaps he should have said "Lunquist is playing very well right now but we need to find a way to get more bodies to the net so he can't see the shots."   Don't think for a second that he is not doing just that by the way - the man is not a complete fool.  He is just trying to get an edge with the officials but I'd suggest that he should just keep his trap shut and play some hockey rather than distract his team with this nonsense.  Good for the Rangers though :)

The Therrien statements that to win you need luck and calls just blows my mind. That's the only answer that he can come up with? Luck and penalty calls? If that's his theory then what do they do in practice? Diving drills and dice? Amazing and the words of a man without an answer.

Agree - no worse than the Price play but not being publicly cried about like the Habs are with Price.  Price may be more important to his team than Brassard but not by much.  Brass has been huge lately and his absence will be felt.  Hopefully he is back for the next game.

@giammarcor  Therrien was reported to say that it was accidental after the game.  This is just showmanship and in poor taste.  If the team needs to rally around nonsense then that's sad.  Rangers job tonight is to not get into it with them if their strategy is to goon it up and slow things down.

I like the effort he has been giving - especially his willingness to come back and break up plays on the defensive side. If he goes out and throws that big body around and keeps getting shots then he will be a difference maker. Some of those shots have to start going in! It's not like they are all oncoming from the blue line...

I agree with whatever poster said that the Garden crowd was just trying hypnotize Nash into thinking he was in Columbus getting disrespected by his old fans again :)

Is it me or did it seem like nobody could control the puck last night?  It was like they were playing in slush or something.  Passes were bouncing off sticks (if they even made it to the player) and players were skating right past the puck without picking it up.  Was strange to see.  Need to get the superglue on the sticks tomorrow night!

Great win last night but very worried about a let down tonight after such an emotional and physical game last night. Tonight is the the game that shows us what the Rangers are made of. If they can find a way to get 2pts tonight then I think they have a good chance to make the post season. If not then I'm not sure they deserve to....
