I still think he winds up at Gibbs. He declined an offer from RCR, so if he just wanted out from Roush that was a chance. Gibbs has said they wouldn't have any announcements until September. Unless or until something changes between then and now, I'm thinking that's how it turns out.

Please. He's in the prime of his career and sponsors love him, something that matters more now than ever. Don't get too excited just yet. He'll have a very good ride for next year.
One of the high points of the season for me was Mizzou shutting Henderson up during the thrashing at Mizzou Arena.

@ezgame Yeah, there's no doubt they would have bent the rules for ND. I don't mean to disparage FSU as an academic institution but the B1G does take its academic profile seriously. I'm not sure that FSU is a match for that.
I guess the questions are: does the gentlemen's agreement with UF, UGA and SC stand with regards to their instate rivals (if it was ever real)? Also, wouldn't adding UNC and VPI do much more in terms of adding households for Project X? It will be interesting to see what happens.

@Seanbo Perhaps, but at least the B1G had plausible deniability.
@RT77 That's an interesting take. The only reason I keep going back to it is that when Mizzou and B1G were sniffing around, much was made of the AAU requirement. So, fortunately, Delaney took the Bugeaters who went in as junior members an Mizzou entered the SEC as a fully vested member of the SEC from day one.
FSU doesn't have AAU membership and isn't likely to ever get there. As far as the B1G goes, that's been a deal breaker heretofore (remember NU was an AAU member when they were invited).
@XEN610 @Roggespierre ...not to mention that Mizzou has a more recent victory over OU than does UT.

Can't spell loss without DeLoss lately, either. He needs to worry about putting out the fires surrounding his own school right now, never mind about us.
Someone in Lincoln is trying to float the notion that Arkansas is hot after Bo Pelini. Nuts, huh?

You're both missing the point and proving it at the same time. All this talk about big boy pants, etc. is really tired because that's all it is...talk. They're playing football now so that's where things will be sorted out. The Danica reference is pretty funny but bottom line is that anyone would get fed up after awhile and just chalk the negativity up to more anonymous internet hate. Not you, just the whole situation: Negative comments on Clay's site, SEC facebook pages, newspaper forums and any other hit and run venue you can name. We're glad to be here (thrilled, in fact) but we're not going to beg you or anyone else to like us and we're certainly not going to apologize for taking the SEC's offer to join. Some folks don't like Mizzou in the SEC? That's OK. Mike Slive saw why Mizzou was perfect for the SEC. You can only read comments about how your team has ruined the conference so many times before you decide that you're going to support your team and to hell with the handwringers. As the new guys Mizzou fans (and Aggie fans) should expect some ribbing; the folks dishing it out have to understand that Mizzou fans and Aggie fans will return it in kind. It that ol' Highway 6 thing again. As to the billboard, well that's a bad idea. Frankly, the notion that Texas or Baylor has anything to do with it strikes me as conspiracy talk but I guess we'll see what happens.

John, you might not be a fan of the trash talk but you would have to make a sincere, concerted effort not to see the smack that both Aggie fans and Mizzou fans have been subjected to since the announcements of their entrance in the SEC. The SEC institutions may be very welcoming but there is a very vocal group of fans that have gone out of their way to disparage both schools at every opportunity and have frankly drowned out any institutional well wishes. Like they would tell you in College Station, Highway 6 runs both ways.
@sanoyes I wonder what the line would be on either match up? Of course anything could happen, like App St. beating Michigan, but I highly doubt EMU could hang for a full quarters with any SEC team.

I realize I cannot put any stock in Mr. Palm's listing since both UK and Ole Miss would handle Eastern Michigan with ease.
