No guardrails and beyond the edge of the dirt, nothing but sky and certain death.
Full opposite lock at those speeds = balls of steel.
Greatness !!
Hmm, I think I see a Pinto hiding there. How many cars do you really have Mike ?
The S13 looks pretty damn good though.
That Cressida with the V8, madness.
(Of the good kind).
(So many idea's now for a project car 1/24 and 1:1).
Great coverage again Mike.
So much rolla goodness. (Difficult to find a favorite).
I had a silver 81' four door Corolla just like that 82', just not as nice. (No 4A-GE either).
Great pics Mike.
Great coverage Mike, more Cressida's please.
First I switch to summer tires.
Then it's off to some side roads for a bit of a wake up/shake down. I check power and brakes, the balance of the car. And start there.
I don't have too many mods as my project car is also my daily driven car.
Five years already. AWEsome !
(I saw the red Monza and Canepa Design came to mind).
Great work guys !!
Great story Taryn, the only way to make this more great is if the Hako was yours.
When I see this car I always get a Nissan R390 GT1 longtail "vibe".
Just like a first girlfriend the 365 cannot be forgotten. The Walter Wolf version of the Coutach was unobtainable, but nice to look at.
The Stratos, I never met.
So guess what my pick was ??
I spy...a rare Nichimo 1/24 512BB slot car kit.
Oh and I'll take a 1/64 Tomica 280Z too.
This is another place to write down, great story Mike.
Does it pass the "cigarette pack" height test ?
A fun looking car however...Speedhunters is about all types of cars.
This very premise was adressed in a movie from the 70's called "The Last Chase".
Although it is an action film it does get you thinking.
(The main character of the movie is a CanAm type 917).
(Answer to above, 70's and 80's Japanese motorcycles).
Some Japanese car greatness.
(I would pay admission just to see a full race B110).
Great post Mike.
Great story Mike, looking forward to part two also.
I have seen a few of those toys around at toy and collector shows, as well as when I was a kid.
Some of those pictures reminded me of toy stores from the late 70's.
Grand Cha, Kaido Racer whatever you call it ...I dig.
Looks like old pictures from Autoworks except they are new
(Jun Imai aka Hot Wheel's grand master made a 1/64 version, "Mad Manga").
More parking lot greatness. Really like that IMSA looking 300ZX.
Looking forward to the GrandCha cars.
Hoping it is good, for sure it will be compared to Grand Prix and Le Mans.
And if it is as good as those can't really complain.
(I will be looking forward to seeing it no matter what the critics say).
That Sunny truck is insane.
The Z is pretty mad also.
Looking forward to more.
(That 81 does need smaller wheels).
