@KatManFoSho @Mikhail XO Relevance: these forums are for opinions, ergo anything posted is technically relevant as long as it pertains to the article, video, etc that is posted. Why are you attacking someone for an opinion, which I am very well aware that I am doing right now.
Why wasn't Shawna paired with someone else... she should have at least made it through knock-out rounds
Can’t you treat this with medicine? Why check into a facility? Either she’s nuts or something else is going on… — Rickey
You might be able to treat symptoms, but not the psychological damage it does to you.
I was so looking forward to a DC Universe revival, and Young Justice wasn't all that bad.
I stumbled into this thread on accident, but after reading the comments, I have my own to make. Please, everyone, please. National pride is one thing, but you all use it to monger hate - don't you dare deny it either. I'm an American, and I don't think that Ms. USA should have won either, and when we do happen to lose I don't bash on every other country that wins. Just be happy for the peron(s) and move on.
The only one coming to mind right now is "Bye Bye Bye" by NSYNC for emb - I mean doucheband. Their first pic says Baby I Love You, but I can't get much out of that. I'll sleuth some more soon.
@Rickey @Izikiel Then I have no problem betting all my money on Cassadee. She will have won by a landslide.
How does the roll-over votes for itunes charting work again? I'm still lost on that process.
Those last few notes. Ouch. Why the key shift? It started off okay, but quickly headed south with his inconsistent pitch problems; those notes were so overwrought that any life in them was taken out and stomped to death.
The only reason why I root for her to win is because she will have prevented the title going to Trevin. Her pitch and timbre grate my soul, but it's at least more tolerable than Trevin, who was pitchy and does enough runs to make xtina proud. Ergh.
@IdleTime This will be my last comment on this thread. I never said that any other contestant could fill a role in today's industry, thank you very much. In fact, I don't vote - I merely surf back and forth for some entertainment.
"That's a crock of doo doo." Because, you know, you know exactly how people vote and can say so with such assurance. Now that, my friend, is "doo doo."
For the rest of my comments, refer to @KavitTuralSumud and @Mikhail XO (Thank you both)
Edit: I did mean to say Ad hominem, and I made some other grammar mistakes. Sorry >_<
@IdleTime @Izikiel I suppose my comment did not post. These are my main points: Trevin doesn't have a role to be filled that isn't already taken. The market is too saturated with R&B and Soul singers that do what he does much, but much better. P and J&J are different artists in terms of genre, and so I don't compare them on singing alone. I don't care for the undertone of that last comment of yours, it's a petty ad-hoc in the guise of a commentary on voter preference.
@IdleTime You're right. He can sing. Everyone can technically sing, but not everyone does it well. He's consistently mediocre. Yes it's my opinion, but seeing as many of these so-called artists don't tend to survive the brutal process of becoming a "star" I believe that it's an opinion shared by many if not most.
@IdleTime Trevin still can't sing. His voice is far too weak for the songs he chooses, and people only like him because he sounds like he manages to hit big notes. He's a vocal gymnast that would have McKayla Maroney giving him "that" look. Very few singers from these realty competitions manage to have any career, and you know why? They are hardly marketable for anything outside of the realty competition world, and because once they get out into the industry people realize how they pale in comparison to current singers/entertainers (the latter being the more important in today's current music scene). He's okay at his best, and dismal any other time. Nick has a better understanding of music, but he isn't everyone's cup of tea - even he has some stylistic choices in his phrasing and melody that leaves me dumbfounded.
The too long, don't read version: He can't singer either; most contestants on these shows don't have the talent to make it as a recording artist.
*grabs popcorn*
Her voice has has a natural break that tends to leave her going sharp and screechy when she reaches those high notes. It's almost unpleasant, but not completely. I'm confused as to where she wants to go as an artist because she is being marketed in too many ways, though it is a mostly rocker-esque feel that I'm getting from her.
Don't make her do choreography...It's a little too awkward.I think that this is a perfect song for her style, and it's not as dated as some of the song choices that these contestants are given. It was a cutesy performance, and though I think that she will be safe for this week it will also be her last. That is unless she can pull of an amazing performance. Who knows.
T_T I don't think the show would be the same without him. He is the reason why I find Mary's character to have dynamic character qualities at all. Without him I feel like she'd just be a total put-off. He's so vital in this new emerging era of pro-plebeians in this world. :< Don't leave!
He was referring to LA Reid and Simon Cowell methinks. Hear what you want to hear, read what you want read into.
@MusicFan You're kidding, right? Please tell me that screeching and ridiculous runs with unneeded embellishment makes for good singing. Also, tell me that singing flat is good. Skylar, Hollie, and Jessica are the best technical singers left. The nasal thing that you're talking about is something that many country singers tend to have, and I don't think it's her singing through her nose, it's just her phrasing and accent. The girls are the most marketable, though I doubt that AI is trying to create a new record-maker.
@alrighty83 I'd rather have the judges keep their control than give any more to the viewers at home. They keep marketable contestants, and, with the exception of Erin, I think that all of these artists could at least push out more sales than the recent past AI winners. The audience has enough control as it is - as you can tell with an all-male vote through, which leads to horrible winners making horrible music that nobody buys.
