Holy crap. I'm at the game right now and both times I stopped to look at the comments thread, a home run was hit.

@KirkDavenport the reason many of us were angry with Robinson trade was not cause we thought he would be a no doubt all star. We were angry cause Colletti helped the Red Sox get Bedard by trading a decent for a couple mediocre prospects. It was the opportunity cost of involving him in a better trade that really hurt.

Mike, clearly Mattingly doesn't think that AJ Ellis is one of our best hitters. That's the only way to explain it.
@KirkDavenport that doesn't make any sense. Walking AJ doesn't really help them in that situation. How do you know that they would've walked AJ?

@Cadtalfryn @EephusBlue It'll probably be Matt McBride. They just called on like Thursday. I'm excited to see him play. He's the first player from my alma mater to make the bigs in a very long time.

@JakeHorvitz @Lobo Look at it this way guys. In the final innings of the all star game, when a big hit is really needed, Braun will be in there instead of Cabrera, Wright will be in there instead of Sandoval and Ruiz will be in there instead of Posey.

I don't understand everyone's obsession with chase headley. He's a nice player and all but I don't think he's the difference maker we need to overpay for with zach lee to get. Personally, I'd prefer jed lowrie and of course edwin encarnacion but his price might me too high.
@DaveyL13 plus I don't trust colletti to properly evaluate players. Zach Lee for a first baseman that can hit .300 and that has tons of grit? Why not?!!
