Ever since Moffat introduced Clara he's been determined to make her not just the most important Companion ever but the most important character in the series history.

She's basically a bad fanfiction character at this point. She nobly sacrificed her life to save the Doctor, not only in his current life but in all the ones before it, and she even gave him the pep talk he needed as a child to become a Time Lord in the first place. Then there's the whole complaining about everything the Doctor does, physically attacking him.

Moff's love of rewriting the Doctor to be influenced and manipulated by Clara is self-indulgent, pointless and devalues the lead character's development over the last 50 years.

@ Notsosmartguy likes watching "Clara Who" What? no it hasn't, have you even watched a single second of the Classic series? It was all about the Doctor as it should be.

*sigh* Nuwho fans.

She should know better than to question the Doctor's methods. He's been doing this for thousands of years by this point. If she doesn't trust him now, after everything they've been through together, why is she even there? She isn't better than him. She doesn't get to judge him like that.

Wow i didn't realize half of Doctor Who TV is suicidal.

The rational conclusion is kill the baby. Based on everything they know they should kill the baby. We are presented no potential benefit to letting the baby live. Then they do let it live, and there's no consequence. The ending was such a cop out.

Is Moffat actually on a quest to make the Doctor totally redundant in his own show?

Why does such a vanilla companion get all this special treatment?

I honesty don't know why he just didn't kill off the Doctor at Christmas and get the dying Matt to hand the TARDIS keys to Clara and say "Go on, it's yours now...

@PaddyB The show is supposed to be about the Doctor.

Moffat on the other hand seems hell bent on making the star irrelevant in his own show..

>The promise of the Doctor: ‘never cruel or cowardly, never give up never give in’ has been violated by Twelve on a few occasions most notably in last week’s Kill the Moon.

Seven violated it on a regular basis so i don't see why people always make a big deal about this.

Doctor Who has become a domestic soap opera with the odd space monster thrown in.

The show has been subsumed under a thick layer of soap during RTD and Moff`s reigns. It presupposes both that we`re unable to engage in the story unless some lovesick woman is in the frame and that we`re unable to tolerate 45 minutes of aliens and monsters unless it`s leavened by scenes of domestic tedium. When you really think about it, it`s quite insulting to the audience.

Was hoping Capaldi would have the clout and desire to reduce this Eastenders-type s**** to the absolute minimum but it seems I was wrong.

And don't even get me started on freaking Clara.

@Amy says Peter Davison is the Thirteenth Doctor! And we saw how long that lasted.

The point is i'd like Clara a lot more if we didn't have to put up with her forced romance with Danny. It`s quite insulting that the Moff thinks people wouldn't care about her if she didn't have some romantic subplot going on.

@ Notsosmartguy Will Kill the Moon @Warisfiller And that's why NuWho will always be inferior to Doctor Who. Moffat and NuWho fans seem to care more about the companions than the time travelling alien that the show is supposed to be about.

I wish we had a showrunner that made an effort of bringing back the human aspect to Cybermen. At this point they're indistinguishable from robots. We need to see some flesh. The Earthshock designs were great, you could make out their moving jaws and that was creepy. Imagine if they showed one with a portion of its armor/clothes removed, and you could see the deadlike flesh of its back, purple veins. I also think they should be mismatched slightly, not all uniform. I like the idea that not every body is upgraded the same way. Some could still have most of their human-body, some could have had their legs replaced, or their head, or everything but the brain.

Bring the body horror back to the Cybermen. They're not robots. They're people augmented with cyber tech.
