@JoeMaddonSuperstar  well, look at the royals, many people explain their presence in this series being directly related to having three guys to shut the door at the backend. the opposing team has to beat them in six innings while the royals offense gets nine

I tend to think Detroit or Cincinnati are more likely destinations, since they have openings in their outfields and are looking to reload for post season runs by trading away an expensive pitcher. it probably wouldn't be a multi-team complex deal, though I think the tigers would be more interested in Carl Crawford.

@BlueMarvin @juanhenry  there was that one year where Andre at the dish in the 9th Dodgers down by one run, meant a Dodgers win. That was fun to watch.

I think the gyroko contract may work out in byrnes favor when all is said and done.... but those other extensions..... are why mike and the gang here have warned us extensions carry risk for the club signing them

@Lobo @Literally PFP  you forget maholm was not bad with Atlanta the prior year down the stretch. maholm had a track record of eating innings. Then Paul face free agency and his mediocre innings proved worth less and he got less (1.5 million) that is what Don used Maholm to do. I don't think maholm was a bad contract, if he was, then why did the dodgers get corria when maholm got hurt?

@Lobo @Literally PFP  I disliked the Haren deal at the beginning. I came to like it and actually don't think it is nearly as bad as I thought it would be

@exceedingly boring potato @P_F_P  I think that trade is defensible (way too much going to philly yes, but defensible) because none of us really wanted kevin coria, paul maholm, carlos Frias, or any other minor leaguer starting a good chunk of spetember games. The "average" Hernandez provided was certainly better then the potential replacement would have done.

you know, despite not being a white gritty middle infielder, Juan uribe (well, he was a middle infielder) has always been known as a good clubhouse guy. I see no problem that he might be a future manager, and since we on this blog sometimes do notice the racial undertones of media themes....

kind of reminds me of another non-white, non-middle infielder dodger who's name was thrown around as a future manager anyway, Who Remembers Marquis Grissom.... so lets not rip on juan to much, Jazz hands maybe just what the doctor ordered.
