@kellyarens40 That's why I have always only purchased Nexus phones, first the Nexus One and then the Galaxy Nexus. People haven't even gotten their new Nexus 4's in the mail yet and I was updated to the newest version of Jellybean over the air today (15th). If Google follows the same pattern , I'll have to buy a new phone every two years but it will be up to date until then. Two years is a good long time to save up for every other Nexus phone that is released lol.
I agree David! I really do not like this guy and wish he would just not talk... ever!
@NicolaiBak I'm guessing you were like me and didn't take it personally either? lol.
I also want a Nexus Q and Google TV one of these days. What can I say? I'm a Google fan.
I like the Nexus 7 but I want a 10" tablet. If I had the money, I would be buying a bunch of N7s for my family members though. I know many of them would have a great time with it. It really is a top notch tablet at a great price. Google is even selling them for no profit (The Play Store and add revenue is their plan to monetize.)
I am but I hope they can include carrier text messages and Gvoice text messages in there somehow too. Having one location for all text related communication would be really nice.
I have purchased music from the Play store, and I plan to buy more. I dig the service and being able to stream from the cloud to all my devices. Being able to download what I've purchased is nice too, in case I'm ever without internet service.
I'm glad to see T-Mobile taking such great steps forward. Even with their current network, they can do quite well. I was getting around 6mbs on my Galaxy Nexus the other day, and my friend with a Nexus S 4G on Sprint was getting less than 1mbs in the same place. Once they get LTE up and running, they just need to grow the network as big as they possibly can. Verizon would have some real competition from a GSM network then. I want to see CDMA die lol.
@TammyMilosh I can see the problem with groups. I'm not sure if you could start an unofficial fan page and still get the same or similar options. I haven't made a group or fan page on either site. If Google allows fans to make their own pages from their accounts, you could have Hangouts with other fans who circle your page. That could be fun. Also, if you don't share anything publicly and only share your info and posts with people in your own circles, it doesn't really matter if random people circle you. They won't be able to see anything about you unless you add them to one of the circles you share stuff with. Even then, they can only see what you share with that particular circle you add them to. I also never see posts in my stream from people I haven't circled even if they have circled me. I just wanted to clear up a few misconceptions.
G+ is awesome! Most of my friends aren't using it so I always have G+ and Facebook pinned in my chrome tabs. However, I still use and check it every day because I have circled people like Tom Anderson, Wil Wheaton, Jeri Ryan and others who have interesting things to say and share. It's a bit like Twitter in that way but they can say much more than just something like, "Eating @ my favorite diner. Wish u all could be here. Watch my new show 2marO on ABC!" I'm also using Hangouts with my family, some of who would never use a social network otherwise.
@bydavidrosen @Mackster248 I think all the blame for that is on HTC. They said it was intended for a better user experience yet nobody seems to like it. I doubt we will be seeing Google take this approach with Android multitasking, and that's why I'm sticking with Nexus for the foreseeable future.
Speak for yourself. I ordered the GSM Galaxy Nexus the first day Google started selling it in the Play Store, and I love it! It is a sweet upgrade from my Nexus One, and it IS running the newest version of ICS. I'm sure it will get Jellybean and likely the next version after that so it should get me by for a couple of years like my N1 did. It's true it would've been nice if Google had sold it unlocked from the beginning but lets face it, Verizon (and Sprint) is NOT an open network like those of AT&T and T-Mobile. If Google was going to get their Nexus brand on the nation's largest network, they were going to have to make some compromises because there are plenty of other high end Android devices for Verizon to choose from. That can't be said about the iPhone. There is only one place Verizon could get that. If Google is going to go totally unlocked for the future, that's great but you probably won't see another Nexus device on Verizon unless the customers demand it. That hurts Google too because they can't sell to nearly half the country. Hopefully they will continue to have a strong relationship with Sprint so they can sell the future Nexus devices through them as well.
I'm going Google more and more all the time. Now I just need more of the people I know to go Google with me!
