So, let's review what we have learned: Any radio personality who rips a TV personality on a major network is subject to suspension if money is involved. Yeah, that's about right.

I disagree on Rick Hahn overplaying the Rios hand. It is obvious it is his intent to get salary relief and no one wanted to pick up the 16 million Rios is owed at this point, especially when they would have to bring him back next year. Over the winter and next year at the deadline, this will be easier to do. Hahn has an MBA from Northwestern and I like the way he is managing things. Who would have thought he would have received four prospects and complete salary relief for a pitcher that is held together by chewing gum and bailing wire?

Being a White Sox fan this season has been painful enough without the continued attacks on Hawk. Look, he is what he is, we've all accepted it and moved on. Maybe you should too.

@Janie18 @ChipRamsey1 So, then, if someone is a public figure, it's okay for other people to wish they would die? People take that talk kind of seriously. I'm not a big fan of Gus Johnson and wish he would go away, but I've never hoped he would die. That's just wrong and irresponsible. There are limits to frree speech.

@Janie18 I take it you've never worked in broadcasting. Your freedom is speech goes as far as your advertisers will allow you to go. That's the reality, no matter how you feel about it.
There are things you can say and there are things in this social media, viral environment you'd better not say or risk your job. I think they made the right call. What he said was over the line.
@Weave77 You must work in New York or Chicago. Columbus is a pretty good size market.
Suspension in radio means time to check with lawyers and negotiate the buy out....
Most Doctors on TV can speak in general terms as in "Let's explain what this injury is" and "here's how the injury is treated" and "usually, this injury takes six to eight weeks to recover from." That said, it will be hard for the CBS Doc to get specific due to exposure and out of respect for the docs treating the case. Remember, he can't get any inside info because of HIPPA. So, it will be insightful, but don't look for a whole lot of deep, inside stuff.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but there are a lot of White Sox fans that actually enjoy the Hawk. It's all about what you like and who you're for., It's easy to take shots at local guys who are SUPPOSED to be homers. You guys ever hear a Twins broadcast? Or an Indians broadcast? And, in my opinion, if there are fans of other teams that dislike the way the Hawk calls a game, it means his doing his job.

The Alverez no-hitter was especially a milepost. The next night, the Sox lost in 11 innings to Baltimore on a home run by Leo Gomez and the season quickly went downhill from there. That was a great young White Sox team, but they just seemed to run out of gas after that series.
