Awesome awesome pictures - I'd pay good money for a print of that last one
Awesome story and cool pics. Recently did a similar trip myself, spending a few days at the Ring followed by a weekend at Spa. Interestingly we looked at both the Ferry and the tunnel and pre booking the tunnel was £14 cheaper...and about 4 hours faster.

Hold up - the great and ever critical JDMized who slags off EVERY post on SH drives this?

And then has the balls to rip into other peoples cars? That's JDMized spelt H..y..p..o...
Awesome write-up. I've seen loads of coverage on Daikoku before but seeing other stuff besides cars is really cool.
Services/rest stops in mainland Europe are pretty good, France especially has some really nice ones with nice places to eat. No car culture though, at least not in the ones I've been in. The UK on the other hand has a few nice ones, but the rest are horrid - proper grimey places where you wouldn't want to set foot....not unlike the rest of the UK
There is currently an 850 estate abandoned on the A3 near Kingston. I'm MIGHTY tempted to head back there with a trailer to collect it
Love the car sir, you're doing it right!
Awesome write up - nicely done
Haterz gonna hate, Potatoes gonna Potate...
I like this 'give it a metric sh1tload of power' approach to setting speed records. Does it really matter if it hits the magic 400kph or not? It's clearly not been in a wind tunnel, nor had any FEA conducted on it but I'm pretty sure that's not really in the spirit of things anyway. It looks cool, its got massive power, its built by people who like having fun.
I'm looking at it as something similar to the salt flat racers - a bit underground, a bit trial and error. OK, the Trust involvement maybe removes it from your average garage enthusiast but for the most part its grass roots. Go there, blow it up, come back and make it better. Rinse and repeat..
Personally I hate it - props for having the balls to do it but its not my bag
@shortgrauzis Because if you've ever parked your pride and joy in a UK services, you'll know that if you park between the lines you'll come back to two SUV's/MPV's parked tightly either side and a lovely smattering of dents down the side of your car.
Been there, done that. I park like this now....
@JDMized You really are a nasty piece of work. Why don't you clear off back to World of Warcraft or whatever your mum lets you play?
Awesome S30 - love it
@JDMized @PaddyMcGrathSH Do you actually ever say anything positive? Ever single comment I read on here that you post is full of bile and nastiness. You've actually contradicted yourself with your 'All you post is VW nonsense' then list how each member of speed hunters posts about different scenes.
In the UK, the V-dub scene is probably the biggest and certainly the most innovative of all the different genres. The fact that most of the cars on show are at least 15 years old goes some way to showing how popular and highly regarding these cars are. I don't currently own a VW (although I'm VAG all the way) but I always check out the Edition shows and coverage. Their forum is pretty cool too
Anyway, enough of the bitching - good coverage and cool cars. A feature on the red 911 would be cool......
