The Expendables was so disappointing. They tried so hard to be camp, that it did not work. Also, I do not care how camp it was supposed to be, there is no excuse for some much shaky camera work. Instead of a joyous romp in the world of the campy, we got a lifeless poorly shot cash in. There was no joy in it at all. The trailer made so many promises that were not kept.
Maybe they can get it right with the second one.

Michael Keaton was a better Bruce Wayne, but Bale was a better Batman. Keaton was so much better at hiding his emotions and darkness which is Bruce Wayne's function while Bale looked like he was going to sob or punch walls every minute. Bale however was far more intimidating as Batman while Keaton could not even turn his head. It is tricky balancing both Bruce Wayne and Batman. It is better if Bale faces the new bane though.
He will need all his bad ass so Bane does not break the bat.

Bay is a poisonous influence over the film industry. His incompetence is constantly rewarded with high ticket sales as he continues to spout out low brow unfunny humor. Apparently inner city illiteracy is a joke; saying "LOL BLACKS PEOPLE CANNOT READ" is not the same as telling a joke. He still has a career after the second transformers movie, which is a travesty. Even though he would not be directing it, I do not want a Ninja Turtles movie that he has any part in.
May this film stay buried so Bay cannot trample on fond childhood memories any longer.

I am definitely looking forward to this movie. If they cannot make it good, I hope that they can at least make it hilariously bad like the Stallone one was, minus Rob Schinder of course. The latter is probably the more likely of the two outcomes, but that is not bad news at all. If done right it could be as funny as the Twilight series. I am seriously hoping this turns out to be a contest of incompetence.

This seems like a really amusing film. It is a shame that America does not get a lot of heartfelt and funny comedies, let alone good foreign films, at least not with broad releases. Films like this could certainly break up the monotony of the unfunny romantic comedies that we have been getting.
The film about stealing sperm gets a prolific release while good ideas like this are largely ignored.

This is historical fiction at its finest. I love how the film is simply adding a fictional layer to a historical character and keeping everything besides the Vampire Hunting as accurate as possible. I do not expect accuracy with this film, but it is always a nice little touch. Hopefully Lincoln can get a better film than Poe got.

It is refreshing to see the brighter side of the military; here we have good men fighting for what they believe in. Soldiers get a lot of grief, so it is nice to see the other side of it for once. The action in this movie is stellar. I thought it would be hard to find a film that makes me feel more patriotic than Captain America, but this certainly did it.

The costumes look pretty cool. Hopefully this film can redeem the boy in red and blue after the awfulness that was Superman Returns. They have nice costumes and an actor who looks big and strong, now all they need to do is avoid soap opera subplots and have him actually notice when he is standing on a continent made of Kryptonite

This looks like it is going to be so awesome. I am glad to see that Tarantino's aesthetics have only improved since Inglorious Bastards. That film looked spectacular, and I can see clear improvement in this trailer. If nothing else Tarantino knows how to make everything look progressively cooler.

This is really sweet. AIM make pretty sweet antagonists with all of their super weapons. Iron Man 2 was a disappointment mainly because it did not have a threatening villain. AIM can actually present a challenge to Iron Man. This is good because after the Avengers, Marvel will need to step it up. The film arena is still reeling from how amazing the Avengers was, so hopefully the streak can keep going. http://www.videodetective.com/movies/marvels-the-avengers/210044#.T9JP19WWeJQ

No, just no. Why is this a good idea? The leading lady cannot act at all and most of the films have been the director's love letter to his wife. Even when Alice lost her powers in Afterlife, she still was good at everything and overshadowed all the main characters who did literally nothing to solve any of the problems.
This looks like it is going to be horrendous. Hopefully people other than Alice will do stuff, but I seriously doubt it.

Les Miserable looks like it is shaping up to be pretty sweet. They have a pretty awesome cast and the fact that Hathaway's talent will be present bodes very well for this film. I am not into the idea of her as Catwoman due to her lack of ability to be intimidating, but here she looks fantastic. This is why it is jarring to see her cast as a superhero villain. She just comes off as lame in the Dark Knight trailer.
Maybe she will be surprising though. I don't know if she has the range to venture out of movies like this one.

I am most certainly looking forward to this film. I want to see one of my favorite presidents beat down vampires. I do like the commitment to historical accuracy, just adding a fictional aspect to Lincoln's life. This is Tim Burton's chance to redeem himself for Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows. This trailer looks awesome as opposed to the trailer for Dark Shadows which raised all sorts of red flags.

I personally hated Dark Reign, but the Iron Patriot was one of the cool parts. It is so in character for Norman Osborne to give a giant middle finger to Captain America and Iron Man. I have no idea how he will fit into the Marvel films, because if the older Spiderman movies are counted, Osborne is dead. If not, then how will they introduce him outside of Spiderman? Iron Man 2 was pretty lack luster in my opinion and this does not bode well for the third film being better.

This is surprising good news. Time Travel was a red flag for me, but I am glad to know that it worked out. I might be inclined to give this movie a shot now. It seems like this film did what the second film failed at doing, that is try to explore K's past. The second film was just completely clumsy and stupid. I am glad to see actual character development.
Hopefully the enemy is not a Victoria Secrets Model this time.

This film has a similar premise to the Covenant, but looks like it was handled in a far superior way. It is always cool to see what happens when people screw up the Spiderman model of power and responsibility. The super natural powers are pretty cool to explore too. Hopefully it did not waste its coolness like the Covenant.

This is probably one of my favorite shows of all time. This show has a great soundtrack, awesome narration, an amazing subject matter, and is simply gorgeous to behold.
This is how you do a compelling documentary.

Prometheus is a bold move by Riddley Scott. It has been so many years since the original movie, that this could easily mess up the mythos as the Star Wars prequel trilogy did. Part of what made Alien so good was the mystery of the Alien planet and how they could only guess what had happened there. Scott is a very competent director, so I am pretty optimistic about it. At the very least it will look stunning. Even if this movie is sub par, he gets a permanent pass for making Blade Runner, but he should handle it well.

This is about what I expected from this movie. Tim Burton has gained so much star power that he does not even care anymore. No one stopped to consider if Burton's cutie pie gothic feel was even right for Dark Shadows. He obviously was not right for this movie which was based on a melancholy drama. His humor has gotten exceptionally annoying as well. This is one of Burton's few abject failures. There are more to come.
He has taken to remaking his own film. That is just sad.

Machete was an instance of a movie that was great for a fake trailer, but not so much when put to the length of a full cinema experience. It was at best worth a passing chuckle. A sequel would be like trying to get blood from a stone; there is not really much to do with this movie. The poster kind of shows how little is actually there creatively. At the very least, the trailer for this new film will look very nice as did the trailer for the first one.

I am feeling very torn about this idea. It seems very similar to Harold and Maude, but a bit more mean spirited. Jack Black is a funny guy, but I do not know if I am all there with the idea. Black's recent films have not been very good so I am very wary. He could very well be heading the way of Sandler, and no one wants that.
2 years, 11 months ago on Trailer: Jack Black is ‘Bernie’
It would be truly awesome if Pattinson can distance himself from Edward and become a truly good actor. Judging him by the Twilight movies is a bit unfair because of the source material he was given. It makes more sense to attribute his wooden performance to the poorly written script based on the poorly written book series. Still he will be missed as a lovably awful character from a lovably awful franchise.

I am sensing this is going to be like another painful Ben Stiller movie; the type where he gets his ass kicked for the entire film. Jonah Hill was funny for a while, but like Seth Rogan, he has kind of gotten very old in terms of making people laugh. Ben Stiller has just become tedious and painful to watch.
Though there is a chance at this film being good, it is extraordinarily slim.

Kingpin seemed extremely well cast to me. He was a determined man who was both strong physically and mentally; that and the fact that they got such a big guy to play him was a nice touch. The other positive about the film was Bullseye who sort of stole the show. That being said, the movie was pretty bad, especially Daredevil himself. Daredevil is the man, and deserves a far better story than he got.

Tim Burton's cutie horror style is starting to wear very thin. Whimsical Gothic is fun for a while, but his most recent movies have lack substance for the most part. Dark Shadows was a soap opera and Burton is going to burden it with an annoying smug self awareness that can kill the immersion in a film so easily. Alice in Wonderland was a complete mess and Dark Shadows just present more evidence that Burton has lost his groove.

The fact that Spiderman 3 was so bad a reboot was needed this quickly is quite sad, but it does give a second chance for a good movie. That being said, it does not seem like much of a chance, though that is likely the skepticism talking. The fact that Marvel is involved is plus as most of the Marvel Studio movies have been quite good. Everyone knows what can happen when an outside studio takes comic material.

This is awesome news! I love the Twilight movies so much; they are some of the best unintentionally funny movies ever. The acting is hilariously bad as the characters act like aliens without understanding of human behavior. It is essentially a high budget B movie that is wonderful to laugh at. Eclipse is my personal favorite as it not only had the B movie charm, but also a legitimately cool fight scene.

This movie actually looks a lot better than the first movie. This not hard hard because the first movie actually made it boring to watch people in robot suits fighting, no easy feat of incompetence. This one seems to have far better casting and seems to capture the tone of GI Joe far better. At the very least, Snake Eyes will tear stuff up.

Borat, while a pretty funny movie, has severely lowered the bar for comedy. Between them and all of the Anchorman imitations, a lot of these awful movies have been churned out. This film seems incredibly dumb; the novelty of these types of films has worn off very quickly. This seems like the final hurrah before this trend completely falls through. Admittedly, this "fake foreigner" sub genre should probably have been buried long ago.
