In my opinion, an OK move in the beginning. I really do think that the two niches are already compiled in such a way that the consumer who wants to buy Android will buy Android, and the same of Apple. It is clearly divided by preference of OS. The only thing they have in their favor at this point is that many (such as myself) would love to have an iPad (even though I am an Android user) because of it's overall functionality and perfect display....I just can't cough up that much cash for something like that. I would, and will, definitely look at a $200 tablet with the intent to buy. So to enter into the market this late in the game with their own tablet, I would say a fine choice, and probably something meant to lure consumers into Android. Not thinking they are looking for monetary gain from the product itself, but more shoppers on Google Play.
@Residentsteve hahaha, yeah well kick started things a little early. Fell in love with a girl just out of high school, and have been with her ever since. We have definitely beat the odds of the marrying young divorce rate.almost 9 years now and still going strong!

I'd argue that with you. I am a 28 year old father of two with my third on the way. In some ways still very much a kid. In a lot of ways, not. However, the device I hold in my hand on my way out of work today definitely improves a variety of aspects in my life. As I'm sure his does. Does this make me a childish looser Dan? It is what you make of it. And if you aren't into technology....you may be in the wrong place.

Is this the norm around here? You did go a little overboard on your description of android users. That did leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Not sure if I'm up for some of the childish debate going on though. I'd say most of you need to realize that Fandroid's and iSheeple alike can both turn into raving lunatics as soon as a debate is sparked. Instead, maybe present the facts that persuade your side of the argument. Don't be so quick to tell someone to "go fuck themselves." And Cam, I'm thinking maybe a lesson on your part. As both sides are showing some of their true colors. Not so different after all are they?
Seriously though, considering we both use each others technology in our devices I could never understand why such a diversified crowd. Who cares. Is the phone in your hand doing the job that you purchased it to do? Then I would say "mission accomplished." I for one cannot wait to see what kind of bad ass technology comes out of either field after some of the recent additions to both platforms. I think we are in for some AMAZING things ahead. If Apple impresses me upon my next contract renewal, you bet your ass i'm switching.
@TiP_Cam You probably have a point. I'm not on here near enough to judge what you are talking about. I do see some of them starting to post above. I just follow anything tech, doesn't matter who branded the idea as long as it's something I want to buy.
