If it's available on Verizon, then it's definitely worth the upgrade from something that came out before the DNA (because if you have the Droid DNA this isn't much of an upgrade really) because none of HTC's One line was ever available on Verizon, making this very worth getting for a Verizon user.
8 core processor? Right, I'll believe that.
@tonkotsu @Renaissance247 @DanDaniel I'm actually in a great Verizon 4G area, do not travel and have unlimited data. I have unlimited data because I let my contract from two years ago, which had unlimited data, lapse, convert into month to month, and still be the same $40 a month I've been paying since 2009 for the rest of my time with Verizon (which will be a long while, I hope). I completely agree with your example of how I'm wrong for a good majority of the people, and I admit I didn't take into account the people that travel for work or pleasure with limited data and may not always be able to use streaming services for whatever reason. I apologize. That said, it still applies.
@Joe Fedewa I'm assuming it's more convenient for one-handed operation. A good majority of people will use it with their right hand when operating one handed (I'm left handed but feel more comfortable with right-handed one hand operation, and can type quicker with my right thumb. [Insert unnecessary masturbation joke here]). Having the home button on the right allows for quicker access to the home screen and, essentially, the major functions of the phone (like quickly leaving the browser to make a call).
Makes sense to me, though I know a lot of people will have trouble adjusting.
@tonkotsu @Renaissance247 @DanDaniel 100% of people upload way more songs than they actually listen to, "just to have." They like the songs, but half of them they skip because they're "not in the mood" and save it for a rainy day, meaning, they'll listen to it once or twice a year. It doesn't need to be there. YouTube it when you want it. Or do like I do, and pay for Spotify so I can have it on my phone. Why do I do something "idiotic" like actually paying for a music service every month? Because it only takes up the space of an app and has 13 million songs at my disposal, on demand, whenever and wherever I want them. And it leaves my phone with 23GB of other useable storage I can have for other things, like apps and the pictures I take with the camera. Also, I support them and the music industry (even though the artists only get a dollar per 1000+ plays or something like that).
I'm not telling you how to use your phone, I'm just telling you the purpose of not having expandable memory and how to utilize your space without it.
@DanDaniel It has 32GB of memory, why do you need more? You shouldn't need to upload every movie and song you own (or torrented) so 32GB is plenty for apps and stuff.
Up the battery at least 500mAh (1,000mAh perferrable) and it would be pretty perfect.
Didn't the S 3 already have S Beam? It was on the commercial making fun of Apple's "next big thing" a couple months ago.
@kanoneyez Maybe autocorrect has dyslexia.
@ChrisCall Yeah, I'm waiting for the HTC Second Cousin Twice Removed.
What is a "blue, bounce effect"?
As long as he's got in on Verizon, I believe it.
@Loyal @Renaissance247 I don't think it's "ugly" per se. I also don't mind the Verizon logo on the front of the phone... they need their logo so people know the network you're on so if someone likes your phone they know where to go to get one. And I have no problem advertizing, I want people to know I use Verizon because Verizon is awesome.
I, personally, don't like that home button. I don't know why everyone is so into the European iPhone-like home buttons on Android phones, and if they didn't have it the logo wouldn't have been there. But personally, I don't mind it. I don't think it looks bad at all, and it's actually kind of unique.
I would say that because of the specs, the phones overall are still inferior to the Galaxy Note. I actually think there's nothing wrong with Android 2.3.x and don't see having it as any sort of hindrance or sign of its capabilities.
I think it looks pretty good; it's sleek and not too overly fancy. It's a phone, not a mansion, I don't need it to look pretty; I just need it to function the way I want it to... and this seems to do just that.
Personally, I feel thew same way about Verizon as you do about AT&T. I love Verizon and have personally had the best experiences possible with them, especially their wonderful customer service. Yes, I said their customer service has been nothing but wonderful to me in the last 4 years. My 3G is perfect, it feel like using my 20MBPS laptop at home on my wireless connection from Comcast.
We all have good experiences and we all have bad experiences, and I'm glad you have had nothing but good experiences with AT&T. I hear mixed reviews but I know it's not completely as horrible as a majority of people are claiming.
Yeah, better not use the default built-in 4.x software buttons, we can't have redundancy in an Android phone.
Will this eventually work like Xbox Live for Windows Phones that allows games that aren't too powerful or too complicated for a phone actually playable?
